Itandje In The Mail (19 Oct '09)
      Oct 19, 2009 08:33:06 pm
Charles Itandje still bitter over Liverpool exit as keeper claims club used Hillsborough anniversary incident to force him out

Charles Itandje still believes he didn't do too much wrong during the ceremony to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hillsborough.

The disgraced French goalkeeper was shown laughing during the service at Anfield and was fined and suspended before being sent on loan to Greek outfit Kavala.

But the 26-year-old, who apologised at the time, insists the incident in April was used to push him out of Liverpool.

He said: 'The last season at Liverpool was very difficult. Watching the other players every Saturday on the pitch when I was in front of the television at home was not easy.

'The story of the stupid laugh was a pretext to bring my situation to a head. It was over-exaggerated.

'The problem was that I did not appreciate the importance of the ceremony. And looking at the pictures, I don't feel I did a huge thing. I never wanted to offend anyone.

'It was clumsy and inappropriate, but I was disappointed that the club did not support me. Two days later, it was chaos. The supporters wanted to kill me. The club told me: "Don't go out in the street, you will be attacked".

'I really needed to leave England. I even got eczema on my hands because I was so stressed.'

Serves him right, if he bothered to take the time to read about the History of our club, he'd have known how important Hillsborough was/is to the people of Liverpool.

      Stupid idiot.

What a lame excuse.  What does he mean, he didn't understand the importance of the ceremony?  Even if he was too dim to bother to find out more beforehand surely he had been at the club for long enough to pick up some understanding of what Hillsborough means to Liverpool.  And being there on the night, he must have had some appreciation of what was happening.  Idiot.

      Exactly.

In any case, you don't act like 5 year old child at any memorial service. Tells you a lot about his character. Is it any wonder he had to sit at home and watch the other players on the telly? Definitely not.

      Good riddance.

      [/news]

Sitting around all day, getting paid an amount of money that most people work 10 years just to see. I suppose it's a much worse stress than the families of the 96. Poor old Charles. ::)

This article sums up why he was so disrespectful and ignorant in his actions. And why he'll never get a look in at our club. Very very stupid.

Apologies don't mean sh*t if you're not sorry Charles and judging by your quotes you weren't at the time and still aren't now. Personally I'd like to see someone break your legs but I don't think your worth someone getting into trouble over.

What's he want, a shoulder to cry on?

Well, how about a fat lip? ;)

Hate him with a passion and the fact he is using this as an excuse for the club not wanting him is a disgrace.

96 names were read out and candles were lit.

Get the F**k out, you don't deserve to play if you can't understand the history of Liverpool Football Club. In it's arguably most darkest moment since 1892, and you don't even know what it means to pay respects, then you don't deserve to even be a footballer.

And stop disgracing my name there!

Eczema on his hands due to stress, more likely due to a lack of usage. sh*te goalie, sh*te attitude, sh*te excuse for a Liverpool player.
