That seems like bullshit, why would we need another right back, we have like 4.

Because rafa is a defensive manager as you can see by the formations he plays

I do hate his transfer policy sometimes :P haha
Can see this new right back being another Kromkamp, and i don't believe a right back will have an impact on the team much/at all

      Dissapointing window.

Theres a couple of players there that we could have got without any real fuss.

McCarthy goin to west ham, did that go through? Anybody no how much? Surely wont be that much though? Was only 2 seasons or so ago he bagged 20 goals in a season. Hes always had the potential and hes similar to Darren Bent, just has the nack of being in the right place at the right time to score goals.

Gudjohnsen. If spurs signed him, then he definately would have come to us surely if we were interested. All no how good he is and he easily has 2 or 3 seasons left in him. Hes full of class this lad and would fit into our team easily.

Vieira. Wages would be a concern I admit but with no transfer fee I would have gambled on him. Time will tell if he can still cut it in the prem but I think he has another season or 2 in him as well. Could be a great signing that for city.

Pavlyuchenko on loan, personally I dont rate him but could have easily been an option. Same with Benjani at city. Amount of strikers city have surely they would loan him out? Bags and bags of potential at pompy but just hasn't had a crack at it properly at city yet. Could have been an option.

Now this is the crazy one, this is the mad one, but why not, ROBINHO? If city think hes sh*te and cant cut it at this level and loan him to santos, is their a small possibility they may have loaned him to us? Again, wages being an issue, but no transfer fee just f**king go for it!

Them clubs might not do business with their rivals who knows but its just so frustrating to see absolutely nothing done and being linked with right backs. Theres no way on earth Rafa will be sitting in his office thinking 'hmm, I dont need to sign any players this window' Our owners are f**king sh*te and because of their lack of investment, interest, involvement in the club we really might end up screwed.

      We cant afford McCarthy.

Gudjohnson is a c**t. He admitted to trying to get Xabi sent off 5 years ago in the CL.

      We have enough midfielders.

Pavly is a good choice but Idk if 'Arry would let him go on loan to another PL club, especially one in the hunt for top 4 with Spurs.

We cant afford 200,000 a week for Robinho, and he's homesick that is why he's going to Santos.

They were just some examples of the business thats happened in this window in which we could have easily stepped in and possibly signed them ourseleves.

Robinho is the only unrealistic target i mentioned in my post but dont believe that home sick bollocks. If the lad was banging hat tricks week in week out he wouldnt be saying hes home sick. Its just a cop out.

We have loads of midfielders yeah but midfield has probably been our weakest part of the side this season.

Plenty of players who are tw*ts but anybody would love gudjohnsen in their team, imagine him playing off torres and having gerrard in midfield. They'd destroy any team.

Why couldn't we afford McCarthy? i dont actually no how much he was signed for but it couldnt have been much? Sales from Voronin, dossena etc surely we could have got him? Dont particularly rate McCarthy or anything but he would have been a half decent backup for when Torres isn't fit.

Just another frustrating annoying transfer window at LFC. Get these americans out NOW.

To be frank, no mate i don't think we'll see anyone else come in.

Still slight hope, though. Hopefully Rafa can somehow lure a striker on loan or something.

Either way, sometimes get a chuckle out of the comments from people and messages on BBC.

Watch how some lad from Clarks in Liverpool is going to be asked to make shoes for the exact size David Villa wears.

Not too unhappy that it's unlikely we will sign anyone else in this window.  With the obvious lack of funds available I'd rather not spend at all than buy for the sake of it and have yet more average players at the Club.

This transfer window has been so exciting,I cannot wait to see our new signings take other teams in the E.P.L. apart.Oh I am so sorry I must of fallen asleep, now I do not know if I was dreaming or having a nightmare. It must be nearly time to banish this thread to the garbage can, preferably with Hicks and Gillette in the bin. :f_steam:

Hick$ already said, January is bad for transfers. Summer will be big, surely he's talking money transfer into his account.  Keep selling and get players through the Free Transfer, that's not even sell to buy.

A load of places are reporting about this:

Reports in Greece suggest that Olympiakos defender Vasilis Torosidis is on his way to Merseyside to finalise a move to join Liverpool.

The 24-year-old was a much sought after target last summer with the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus expressing interest and it is claimed that Torosidis is good friends with international team mate and Reds' defender Sotirios Kyrgiakos, who joined from AEK Athens in August 2009.

With Glen Johnson still injured, Jamie Carragher has been forced to deputise at right-back but manager Rafael Benitez has been tracking Torosidis with intent ahead of the close of the transfer window at 5.00 pm.

In addition to the departures of Andriy Voronin and Andrea Dossena, Liverpool are set to bid farewell to promising youngsters Christopher Buchtmann and Vincent Weijl, who are on the verge of completing moves to Fulham and Dutch outfit Helmond Sport respectively.

Reserve goalkeeper David Martin will to return from his loan spell with high-flying Leeds United on February 10 whilst youth stopper Dean Bouzanis has extended his stay with League Two club Accrington Stanley until the end of May.

Damien Plessis, however, remains at Anfield despite links with a move to Serie A giants Lazio. The French youngster has been named in John McMahon's reserve team that faces Bolton Wanderers in tonight's Lancashire FA Senior Cup quarter-final clash.

Also in the squad are Martin Kelly and Nabil El Zhar, who both hope to signal their return from injury in the game at Lancashire FA's Leyland headquarters this evening.

Some good news about Kelly and El Zhar playing for the ressies tonight.
