It's not the brazilian 2nd division, it's Maranhão's 2nd division. In Brazil, we have state championships too, it's part of our tradition, considering we didn't have any national competition till 1959, and our current league exists only since 1971. The state championships are the oldest competitions in the country. But Maranhão is a state with no tradition in football, their 1st division is crap already! Obviously it's a shame, but such thing would never happen in the national 2nd division.
