Liverpool lead rivals in Facebook popularity poll
Liverpool are the first Premier League side whose official Facebook fan page has exceeded the one million mark, according to a survey by revolutionmagazine.com. The Anfield outfit, who beat Manchester United 2-0 at the weekend, are renowned for their strong global fan base – particularly in the Far East - and have pushed the social networking side of their brand expansion through their official website. Rivals United look the most likely to pass the landmark in the coming weeks, while Arsenal and Chelsea maintain a healthy lead in third and fourth place above London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Bolton Wanderer’s prop up the table, while Stoke City, Portsmouth, Burnley, Wolves, Fulham, Blackburn Rovers, Wigan Athletic, West Ham United and Birmingham City all struggle to reach 10,000 ‘fans.’
