 The positives outweigh the negatives and with the transfer constraints well in place RVN could do a job for us - it's a lot better than a kick up the arse.

I don't like him as a player, but thats only because he was good for 'them'.

33 is pretty old but its short-term and his style of play isn't really based on any massive movement/raw pace so i don't see him being any less useful because of his age...

pains me to say it but i could live with us signing him but i'd struggle to sing a song for him when on the Kop.

He certainly did Keith but unlike RVN he also had good positional movement and was willing to set somebody else up when the situation demanded. If there was talk of money changing hands the deal wouldn't be worth considering  - the fact that he is on a free changes things and he would be worth having to throw on for the last ten minutes or so to grab a goal, and piss off whiskey nose no end.

IMO I would rather have something rather than nothing !

So if he doesnt do well, then we get rid, if he does and stays fit he is a bargain, I cant see us losing out, he is quite strong in the air, on the ground and is great at doing what he needs to - scoring goals.
