According to B.B.C. Sport today he would prefer to come to us on loan than go to Arsenal.

Read the same thing, apparently rather be sold to us than Arsenal. Just saying its a matter of funds on our part.

Do we really want Manchester's sloppy seconds?

Its better than nothing and will work well with Torres  ;)

If he was a couple of years younger id have to think seriously about it ,but ive a feeling he would be a burden now. And plus we cant afford to build a stable on the touchline. Surely there must be another  answer ffs.

The word in the D Mirror and the Telegraph is that RVN has turned down an approach from Arsenal his preferred club being Liverpool.

I'd definitely take him, ex manc and all that he is.  Hated him when he was at United but he surely knows how to stick the ball in the net.

      Worth a punt I reckon.

It'd be worth doing just to piss F**k nose Ferguson off - which is why he's expressed a preference for Liverpool, when you think about the reason he left manUre.
Never rated him cos all he did was hang around the goal line annoying the keeper but after saying that he did bury some in the onion bag and he could provide a bit of height and bulk to the forward line up.
The positives outweigh the negatives and with the transfer constraints well in place RVN could do a job for us - it's a lot better than a kick up the arse.

I don't like him as a player, but thats only because he was good for 'them'.

33 is pretty old but its short-term and his style of play isn't really based on any massive movement/raw pace so i don't see him being any less useful because of his age...

pains me to say it but i could live with us signing him but i'd struggle to sing a song for him when on the Kop.

He certainly did Keith but unlike RVN he also had good positional movement and was willing to set somebody else up when the situation demanded. If there was talk of money changing hands the deal wouldn't be worth considering  - the fact that he is on a free changes things and he would be worth having to throw on for the last ten minutes or so to grab a goal, and piss off whiskey nose no end.

      Im all for RVN coming.

      Stat Time:

      1998–2001 PSV Eindhoven 67 Apps 62 Goals
      2001–2006 Manchester United 150 Apps 95 Goals
      2006– Real Madrid 68 Apps 46 Goals

      National Team - 64 Apps 33 Goals

Goal Ratio: A goal every 1.47 games (236 goals in 349 Apps)

According to Marca, there is option to make the deal permanent for 2 million euros (£1.8 Million). So if he doesnt do well, then we get rid, if he does and stays fit he is a bargain, I cant see us losing out, he is quite strong in the air, on the ground and is great at doing what he needs to - scoring goals.
