Two legged ties, if I'm not mistaken.

Imagine the feeling when your drawn against one of the greatest sides European competition has ever seen. Everyone in this competition fears us, even Juventus, after last time.

      Exactly.

I believe that if there's one side teams would like to especially avoid - it's us.

      Not 'new' news. Title changed.

Looking forward to the draw tomorrow.

      How does it work:

      1 leg or 2 legs?

If 1 then is the draw for home/away random?
Liverpool vs seeded team,Were home 1st leg & away 2nd leg.

I'm quite amused at the overwhelmingly positive comments in this thread. Basically "we can beat anyone", "bring it on" and "they'll be bricking it to draw us", eetc. etc..

Just wondering if all this confidence is based on our scintillating form of the last 3 months or something else? Is this the same confidence by which everyone expected us to win the Champions League as well as the Premier League this season?

Me, I'm more realistic I think. Sure, we COULD beat anyone if we ever get ourselves sorted out but, right now, I wouldn't be too optimistic about beating too many of that lot. And especially NOT Galatasaray who look a bit useful and tough to me.

I do understand where you are coming from but if there is one thing we are good at under Rafa it is two legged ties, only Chelsea have seem to figure out how to beat us and they are not in the competition. It isn't really a big issue about being none seeded, you are going to have to beat these teams one way or the other, I have a feeling we will draw one of the German sides.

I'll be out for this as my mate has his party but i'd like to see:

Benfica - show the Blueshite how to beat them

Galatasaray - Kewell's arse is out of Europe.

      Juve - it'd be a great tie!

Is it a straight knock out all the way through now?

If thats the case I want PSV Eindhoven.

It is gonna be like when the Champions League had 32 teams. Each group will have 4 teams. The best 2 teams will then progress to the last 16.

A lot of games to play.

Should this competition be taken seriously?

Think its knockout mate. Otherwise youd need 8 groups of 4 which would mean only 8 top seeds. with 16 seeds its surely straight knockout over 2 legs

It just shows how poorly we've started this season if some of us on here are worrying about the first knock out tie we get in the Europa League.

Doesn't matter who we get to me for two reasons.

      1. We are the best team in the competition IMO.

      2. You have to play the best in the competition at some stage anyway, might as well be now.

If i had to pick a team though, id choose Galatasary all day long.  I cannot stand turkish teams and would just love to knock them out first.

      Juve could be nice.

Whats important is that Liverpool must show more passion, 'cause Europa Leagua is not a picknic in the Glastonbury festival.

The best thing - when Livepool plays euro games, everyone can feel a bit of magic around the Reds.

Liverpool always have a speciall aura in euro matches, hope wi'll see it again. I'm sure we will.

Quite fancy Anderlecht in the draw. Didn't pull up trees in the group stage, and not that far to travel in February.

What do other people think ?

It's destiny for us to win this.

How do I know? Because I won it on Fifa manager after crashing out of CL! Also won the prem an FA Cup, so it will be a glorious season!

Seriously though, not fussed who we get, wouldn't mind Juve though, a big team who will get us pumped for the rest of the comp.
