Has it actually been confirmed or is that what is thought to happen?

He won three straight titles at Inter. Then again he had the squad to do that I suppose.

If he is to be appointed, hopefully he's going to be a bag of sh*t for them!

It says sky sources, now Rafa can definitely not be sacked as he was the only 1 capable in my eyes of doing something if the worst was to happen

      Worried.

That Mancini might bring more competition to that top 4 spot really.

Yes, Mark Hughes is apparently sacked and Mancini is going to be announced at 7:30pm.

Reckon they've been scheming this plan for a few weeks behind his back.

If you're asking me, I don't think he should of been given another season after last seasons poor term, but City have only lost twice this season and improved considerably, which he has signed some good players?

      ???

This day and age football completely boggles me.  Weirdos.

Not as bad as the likes of Madrid who sack their managers if their team doesn't play 'attractive enough football'.

Inter are pretty bad for sacking managers for no reason too actually.

Mancini won Serie As as a manager of Inter. Mark Hughes won nothing.

I'm really worried now. I don't think Rafa can come out and say he can guarantee a top 4 finish now can he?

TBH this Mancini thing is really getting me worried.

It's not one club that's threatening the top four spot. It's 3-4 clubs.

Mancini is at the right place then!

I hear you there Ross.  But that's a weird old league.  You win the League and your sacked, I was glad we didn't have any of that sh*te in the Premiership where we had level headed people at the top of our clubs.

Then those two cowboys ran in and half of Dubai started lobbing their money about.  Looks like the good times for level heads is truly behind us.

      And he's outta there.

I reckon they were better off with Hughes than Mancini to be honest. Mancini only won Serie A because Juventus were demoted and Milan decided to go and buy a load of old players.

Not sure what they expect in the transfer market because their main targets are probably Torres and Terry which will never happen regardless of who is in charge.

Surprised with that move. He has won league titles in Italy. Apart from that, Nothing.

I am sure they could have lined up a better manager. He has done F**k all in Europe as a manager.

Mark Hughes had to go, for the dreams and ambitions of Man City, a stronger needs to be in charge and Roberto is a sh*t choice too... They should have gone for Hiddink or Mourinho

Yep Hughes did extremely well to be lying 6th in the table with his £200m mercenaries and unlimited budget.  Whereas Rafa with no money at all is only 2 points behind them with Liverpool...and he deserves the sack instead of Hughes.  ::)

I'm not surprised he's gone, there's been talk about it for a while.
He's done well at City in my opinion, and should have been given more time.
But obviously 8 draws and a sixth spot mid season isn't good enough for the owners.

You can't let three goals in every week after spending the USA's budget for war on players and expect to keep your job though.

      How much was Lescott?

It was just a matter of time but I have said it once and I will say it again , a manager needs time.

So, Mancini replaces him and how many of those players in City are actually wanted by Mancini? He's gonna shuffle the squad again and he needs time again but wait, the owners are gonna replace him as well if he doesn't deliver?

      It's a cycle.

Too right. You get that much money and he buys Lescott and Toure? And for 40m combined, he deserved to be sacked then.

To be honest I feel sorry for Mark Hughes. Everybody is so bloody impatient these days and wants instant success, well sometimes you just have to learn to be patient and wait.

Too much money, too little time.

The money dictates the attraction mate or so it seems for the majority of so called quality internationals (read mercineries) irrespective though changing managers for the sake of it seldom works, having said that Chelsea seem to be the exception to the rule.

Have you seen the new managers shopping list? Things are becoming clearer though it now appears that if a manager is in the euro clique and has a certain affinity with the Italian or Spanish leagues,he is able to attract the elite of those leagues. this qualifies him for a post at a club like Citeh who have unlimited funds with which to acquire a team of mercenaries.
Mark Hughes while of course having all the credentials for the job is more of a traditional coach who will use traditional methods to do his job but these will not give the overnight results required.

Most targets of City would of thought 'who is this Hughes fella?' and now they see Mancini there and i think they'll be taken more seriously by bigger name players.

Wouldn't surprise me to see players like Yaya Toure, Eric Abidal etc. at the club very soon.

Said the same thing in the earlier post as you can see above mate, it is not the best way to carry on as I'm sure you agree it just promotes a two tier league with three or four super rich clubs forming an elite.

Cocky and arrogant ever since he got the job. Even said last season, that  "City and Chelsea have taken over from Man United and Liverpool as the biggest game of the season, as the focal point of the English Calendar".

Should never have taken the job, he knew what the end result was ALWAYS going to be.
