                  Torres

      Benny    Gerrard    Maxi

      Mouth-watering when on form.

                     Torres
      Yossi        Gerrard     Maxi
             Aquilani    Masch.

Really is a quality balanced team. Masch and Maxi both know each other well because of Argentina link.
Gerrard and Torres needs no explanation.
      Yossi is Yossi
Aquilani is an assured passer and intelligent player.

This would of been perfect from the summer but I really hope it happens now.

Question is - will Dirk be dropped in place of Maxi?

I would like to think so but...

And Maxi played with Fernando at Atletico.

Yossi and Gerrard both can find Torres with a blindfold and Maxi has experience playing with him so that means we could have 3 midfielders knowing where their main man is which bodes too well for the side.

As HR said, i'll wait until this is done before i get too excited.

Don't exactly follow the La Liga much, but from the 2 games we played with them in 2008 he's definitely a quality player.

Nando must be gushing now at the prospect of playing with his old mate, I'm excited now.

But one thing, is he best used as a right winger or is he able on both wings? Cos I seem to think he only plays on the right. Oh well.

I'm rubbing my hands with glee now.. just waiting for the official confirmation.

      Liverpool sign Maxi rodriguez?

This news just came out of the blue for me, but according to LFCglobe, we have signed maxi rodriguez, while sky news is saying we are still in talks with his agent. Very surprising, and don't really know why rafa has bought him. Discuss.

Would be F***ing boss if it materialised.

Drop Kuyt and putting Maxi on the right would make us a pretty formidable attacking unit.

      Yep. Speculation in here please.

These loan buys sound good don't they!  Rodriguez out of contract at the end of the year, this could be an utter F***ing steal!  :D

24 games and 8 goals. 1 in 3 for a midfielder in a decent league is very good :).

La Liga - Torres had a much worse goal:game ratio in Spain than he did here.

Maybe Maxi is suited here as much as Torres is. He was very effective against us.

Beat me to it there Res.

Could be ideal for us.  It's about time Rafa pulled his finger out and started thinking about loan deals, it's almost like a trial, if he's no good for us then no love loss there.

      ^True.

I don't pay particular attention to the goal ratio since he's a winger. What I'll pay more attention to is, how much he is able to offer the team as a whole. Defensively? Offensively? Intelligently?

Although scoring goals is important, what we need is a player who is able to blend in the team, make sensible passes, provide assists, and play for the good and greater glory of the club.

Not doubting him, he's just had a stop/start season. Being subbed and benched alot.
