Dinamo Fancy a Move for Benayoun

Benayoun's apparent comfort at Liverpool hasn't stopped Dinamo's inquiries
Dinamo Moskva is reportedly interested in acquiring Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun, according to Sovetski Sport.
Dinamo officials are suspected of having begun the conversation last week with the 29-year-old’s agent Ronan Katsaf. This information dovetails with comments made last week by Dinamo athletic director Konstantin Sarsania that his club was making a push for a relatively high profile attacking midfielder that plays with a top club in Europe.
Katsaf declined to comment on Dinamo’s interest.
Benayoun joined Liverpool from West Ham in 2007, when he signed a four-year-deal that came with a £5 million transfer fee.
Readers may recall that in January 2009 Spartak Moskva were in advanced negotiations with the Israeli captain after his dismay in not receiving many first-team opportunities. But Liverpool head coach Rafael Benitez apparently had a heart-to-heart with Benayoun and convinced the player to stay on with the Reds. Since that time Benayoun has signed a contract extension with the club that lasts through 2013.
With the absence of Steven Gerrard at Liverpool, Benayoun has been receiving much more playing time over the last year and has been performing admirably. Just last week Benayoun’s fortunes were somewhat soured, or at least postponed, after fracturing a rib in Liverpool’s FA Cup match against Reading.
Earlier this month, Greek side Olympiakos were suspected of readying a €6 million bid for Benayoun and had their rather low offer quickly turned down by the powers that be at Anfield. Since the addition of Maxi RodrÃguez from Atlético Madrid, Liverpool has bulked up their midfield, but there has been no indication that the club wishes to move the Israeli. Given Benayoun’s good relations with Benitez and his repeated allegiance to the club—specifying that he’d only leave Liverpool if they did not want him—it would seem that Dinamo’s calls, while not falling on deaf ears, have probably being met with some indifference.
