AC Milan Carlo Ancelotti has labelled Liverpool the worst technically-gifted of the three English sides to reach the Champions League semi-finals.
Ancelotti has also accused the Reds of abandoning their English roots ahead their Champions League final on 23 May.

"Technically, Liverpool are the worst team of the three English sides who reached the semi-finals," he said.

"But out of Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, I'd have preferred United in the final."

He added: "You could see from the two legs of our semi-final with them that they play and let you play. I don't think it will be the same with Liverpool."

AC Milan were beaten by the Anfield side in the 2005 final in the competition after Liverpool came back from 3-0 down to draw level at 3-3 and then win on penalties.

Genarro Gattuso has already taunted the Reds by claiming they are not as good as Manchester United and Ancelotti has stoked the fires further with his latest comments.

He delivered a barb at counterpart Rafael Benitez and a policy he sees as decreasing the number of English players in the team.

"Milan are a strong Italian team. there is a strong Italian culture running through the team." said Ancelotti.

"Liverpool do not have the DNA of an English side. It is more of a Mediterranean team because of the coach."

What is that doughnut on about now? so we have abandoned our roots have we? and because of that we have made the Champions league final twice in three years and got to the knockout stage in the other!
What exactly are English roots anyway? are Arsenal,Chelsea and Man U typical English sides? of course they're not and thats why they with us included are the teams that challenge for honours home and abroad(except Man U and Chelsea obviously ) every year.
We might be tactical but to be called it by a man who played for a team and country that introduced the world to "Catenaccio" a sweeper system that encouraged the use of tactical fouls is frankly a bit rich, the man has twitchy bum syndrome already and is panicking because a sense of Deja vu has descended on the San Siro and Ancelotti has to face up to the fact that a team who did him once could quite possibly sneak up and bite him on the a*se again!
Liverpool may not have the attacking flair of some teams and that may be because we lack some of the players capable of delivering it but also because Rafa's first rule is dont let the opposition score and our skill, strength and unity will be enough for us to get the winner down the other end.

No thats right we are not as good as the Manc's, we are three European cups better than them you horrible little man.

At the end of the day a team giving it loads before a major final is a team who are worried, Rafa continues to maintain a dignified silence or laughs off any detrimental remarks made about our club and that to me says he is confident in our capabilities and not climbing the walls in need of a tranquiliser as Ancelotti will be by Wednesday night.

Looking at the first team and subs, there's 60% North European (inc. Harry Kewell) and 40% South European (inc. the South Americans). If we were talking possession in a match we'd say the North Europeans had dominated the match.

Riise hits back at Ancelotti

John Arne Riise says Liverpool deserve to be in the final in Athens , and that AC Milan hate the physical aspect of Liverpool's game.


All the talk has been of how AC Milan beat Man United in the semi final, but Riise insists that Liverpool won't give the likes of Kaka the same amount of space and time on the ball that he was allowed in the semis.

Carlo Ancelotti (AC Milan coach) says Liverpool are the worst technical side out of the four teams in the semi finals, but Riise was quick to answer back to those claims: "We don't really care what people say, we deserve to be in the final. And we know Milan don't like playing against teams like us.

"I heard some things earlier that they think they are the more tactical and we are the more physical side. But we can play football too, And they know we are strong and physical and we will use that to our advantage. They hate playing against those sort of teams.

"They looked like they struggled against the physical aspect when they played Bayern Munich earlier in the competition, even though they got through. But it is not something they enjoy facing.

"And we will play our own style of football that has been successful for us, we know that some teams hate to play against us because we play aphysical compact type of game. We don't listen to other people because we know what we can do."

"When they played against United their full-backs were almost like strikers or wingers. That is because United made room for them and gave them space.

"The way we play is quite compact and it will be hard work for their full-backs and wingers to get through.

"If they still attack us that way we will find space to hurt them. We have got the next few days to find their weaknesses and exploit them"
