I've heard a few songs on the radio. I was never a fan really, but they've intrigued me enough to want to hear more.

Never been a massive fan, someone let me copy the album onto my mp3 player, been listening to it this past week.

One particular tune Escape Velocity is an 11 minute stormer, this album has really impressed me.

Must admit I'ts a lot more "Popmusicy" than normal. But tbh, I'm Not Afraid, No Love and I Love The Way You Lie have all grown on me. Quite like it now. Not really anything like Marshall Mathers LP or Eminem Show anymore though.

Bit of a cheat here 'cause it was released in 2009 but.......Band Of Skulls - 'Baby Darling Doll Face Honey' is an absolute F***ing monster of an album. I've been playing it non-stop for a few days now after seeing them live. Blurb......

......."Band of Skulls are unlike anyone else, and yet, they are a synthesis of so many other bands from The Kinks to Oasis, and show influences from '70s blues to '90s garage-rock and 2000's acoustic-pop. ... Band of Skulls are masters at capturing the essence of different rock-based textures and molding it to their specifications. It may not be an album that speaks for everyone, but it's an album that speaks to everyone and covers decades of rock music."

I'm telling you, right here, right now.....If you haven't got it, get it.  >:D

I don't have it because I have all their albums, but as something which is worth every penny Oasis's compilation of all their singles would be one hell of a cd for anyone who don't have all their cds. Time Flies shows just how great a singles band they were, probably the best singles band ever. And then you get their b sides, as well as Definitely Maybe and (What's the story) Morning Glory but really the rest of their albums aren't bad apart from Heathen Chemistry, and from track 8 onwards on Dig Out Your Soul.

Sounds a bit less alternative though doesn't it Ross? It still has to grow on me.

I'm 4 songs in and I must admit that I've noticed that too.

Unless I'm going to be faced with some brilliant songs in the next 45mins or so of listening I'm worried that it isn't going to be an album that I can listen to over and over.

Good music but failing to stand out just at the minute...

Yeah, they used to be refreshing, original and just different from any band out there, they seem to have lost some of that.

At the moment, I think it's listenable, but it just doesn't really stand out.

The songs seem to blend into each other and they're a little too similar. Unless this is the intended effect? I don't know.

I certainly prefer Neon Bible at this point. It'd be great if they went for a 'No Cars Go' approach with their songs I feel.
