And what happens when an unfit injured Torres is all we have to rely on? Ngog does not fit he bill as a front man for Liverpool FC. 9 games and 6 goals is still in the realm of Fantasy land and not enough to strap him with the burden of leading the team yet.

Why not? He's done it for us this season and produced the goods. You can only base this on what we've seen and David has done his job pretty well thus far to say he deserves the chance to do it again should Torres get injured (pray to God it doesn't).

Michael Douglas or Sharon Stone?  ;D

what you want is an old fashioned poacher.. invisible most the time & pops up in a moment to win the game.. I do think we are all aware of this but Rafa is just doing what he can with the budget he has, sooner or later he will bring in that person but they dont just grow on trees.. and if someone can do that, which ever club they are playing for aren't suddenly gonna wanna let them go to us for nothing, its all gonna cost money, money which unfortunately we dont have.

Look at the Arsenal Stats, everyone takes a pop at the goal post. The other two teams and Liverpool FC? Heavily dependent on the lead striker.

I think what we kinda lack at the moment is physical presence.

We had Crouch, Hyypia and Hamann before. Now, there looks like there's no point in taking free kicks or corners unless the kick taker is trying to score.

The reason why different people are not scoring enough goals is because we aren't creating nearly as much chances as we should be. Most chances on goal = more goals. Torres's conversion rate is fantastic so that problem is all in creating chances.

gerrard should play along side mascherano and benayoun behind torres...and the new player maxi play on right...
gerrard is was great last season but this season no alonso then he should back to his real position as center mid...I think liverpool will be better with this formation...

                                reina
      johnson -- agger--carragher/skrtel -- aurelio/insua

      maxi     -- mascherano -- gerrard    --  kuyt

                     benayoun
                                   torres

Torres, as we all know, works best up front alone.

Just looking at the top 20 assists, it is clear to me that we are far as F**k as compared to the other three teams. This in turn tells me that we ain't getting the ball enough to Fernando Torres to convert them.

Thus, barring injuries I'll buy players who'll support Torres. Players who are able to send a decent cross in and also able to have a pop at goal time and again. I think the 4-2-3-1 formation is slick as F**k when we play it perfectly, really.

Playing more strikers up front doesn't guarantee more goals. For me, we clearly need proper top class wingers to tear the defence apart, especially on the right.

And I would like to add, Berbatoss isn't a top class striker. He's a complete waste of money, and a complete flop.

      N Gog has a 66% conversion.

Babel is proved to be sh*te at 17% rate.

..............and MoAb has again come up with the answer.

      3-6-1 formation !

      Wow.

Following yesterday's exit from the FA Cup, it must have become so clear to all that we need another prolific striker; not a has-been and definitely not Ngog yet.

Torres is out for another 6 weeks. That is the deep period when we play some pretenders to the top 4 position.
