First lesson was basically just being taught the different parts of the car and the checks you should do before driving. Then I had a little drive round an estate at the end. Next lesson on Friday.

Scary the first time you're in charge of a car isn't it?

Wow that was fast.. Short lesson.

You're back in less than an hour and a half.. including travelling time I suppose? So.. fast.

Yeah the lessons are only 1 hour long.

I've drove before Gow with my dad but quite a while ago. It was quite weird being in control again yeah!

Well i failed the test. It was my first test. But i am so angry with myself. I don't now what its like elsewhere but in Belfast your allowed 15 minor mistakes and no major mistakes. However, i got 3 monors (which i was really happy with) and 2 feckn majors. The majors were avoidable mistakes- clipped the curb coming out of a tight side street and as i was going through a set of lights, it changed to amber and i only realised when i was half way through and i stopped so i was put down for going through the lights. I am going to book another test for asap- they are all booked up until 27th July which is a bit sh*t but i am going to see if there are any cancelations.

Got mine again in a few weeks!

Unlucky mate. I failed my first time so it's always the best who pass second time.

Hard lines Semple mate. Sounds like me. I had 5 minors but 3 majors! I think it meant I just needed a bit more practice.I'm confident of passing in a few weeks (as long as I can sort out stupid parallel parking!) Good luck for next time. Make sure you update us in here. I decided to have another 4 lessons (2 hour lessons) and then do it again, and iron out the areas where I'm not confident. Still don't like changing lanes on a dual carriageway though.

I'm considering locking this thread and starting one saying 'just passed my driving test'. Although I would probably have to remove the word 'just'....

Obviously not going to get complacent about it though, still a lot to learn but I'm reallly happy with myself!

On another note, I don't like the negative tone of the title of this thread, can we change it to something like 'Driving lessons/tests' or something along those lines!

On my second lesson, my instructor took me out at 3pm along this main road called Woodchurch Road and it is ALWAYS hectic on a Saturday especially in the afternoon.  

Was shitting myself to say the least!

Erm, ayrton. I caught a glimpse of the name of this thread but then it was changed. I saw the word 'careful' - I don't like the look of that, care to explain ?
