8 into 4 - you work it out!

Although i think it is important for a player to have to win his place in the team, i personally would put Carra in the centre and put Glen into Right back. No harm to Carra, but he is not a wing-back and Glens attributes would help the team massively down the right handside. Plus, it would also add to the competition at centre half what with Skrtel, Carra, Agger and possibly Kelly fighting for the position. If, however, Glens performances are not what they should be, i would happily put Carra or Kelly into right-back.

Glen was not the reason for us shipping goals poor form was I think Glen coming back would be a big boost cause it would be his pace that could have done something for us against city....

The point that has been overlooked is that Carragher is the player that organises our back 4, as soon as he went off against Arsenal then the defence fell to bits.
He's not a right back though and is constantly being found out against players with pace.
Maybe play Johnson Right Midfield is an option but then play Kelly at Right back.

i think we need johnson back, Carra has shown terrific professionalism playing in a position that he open has come out and said he doesnt enjoy and theres nothing better than seeing him bust a gut getting forward  

I think Johnson offers too much in attack not to play him, Insua does well getting forward but often lacks the final ball, i think Skrtel should be dropped onto the bench always makes me nervous that he will give away cheap freekicks.

However if its not broke dont fix it i suppose

Well i've voted to bring Johnson back in and put Carra back in the middle. My ideal back four would be Johnson, Carragher, Agger and Aurelio. Although Insua, Kelly, Darby, Skrtel and Kyrgiakos are all definitely good enough to warrant selection. Just wish we had the same options in midfield.

This gives us a settled,strong defense with cover by mascher and 5 attacking options going forward.I think this would gives us 3 points in most games.  

                    

I say forget the stats, johnson at RB and carra at CB is our best team, and I think that Carra-Agger is our best partnership so I'd go with that as much as I can. The team has been unsurprisgly aweful this season, I don't think stats should be used to make our team. We use our best players and hopefully they'll start playing their best.

well said mate, if theres no Carra, theres just Stevie to get the lads going...and we rely on Stevie too much when we are attacking, Carra stays (in whatever position youse all see fit)

Kyrg has been immense.  I thought it was noticeable even over the course of one game last night the difference between when he was playing and when it was Skrts and Agger.

Johnson right midfield with Carra behind him would be ideal but will never happen. Johnson only get the cover he needs when both Lucas and Masch are playing. Its a no win situation
