Who's our third most important player at the club?

On the back of Pepe's performances yesterday I was wondering who was our 3rd most important player behind Torres and Gerrard. For me it would be Reina. He's been vital in keeping us in games this season without him I think we would have struggled to even keep up the race for 4th. He's helped out from corners where we have been at risk with the zones. Him coming out and punching the ball clear has been key to us not conceding as much from set pieces imo. So it's easily Pepe for me.

Tough one between masch and pepe! Based on recent form id put them both above stevie and nando (only because nando's been out for a month or so and stevie hasnt been great, slowly getting back to the stevie we know now) But good to see torres play today and show us what we've been missing!

Carra. Might not be in his best form. But still massively important player for us.

Nobody is bigger than the team no matter how good they are. Every player is just as important as the next one.

We know which one is Rafa's. Could well even be more valuable than Torres and Stevie to him.

Pepe.

The player who would also be a good captain if needed and like Torres an adopted Scouser.

Don't think you can say whoose the most important, whoose the second most important etc.

Reina, Carragher, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres - are the backbone of the team for me. I would have these playing in every game when possible.

Then i think Agger, Skrtel, Aurelio, Insua, Kuyt, Benayoun and Johnson all have the ability and capabilitys to break into that back bone themselves. Its just whether they can keep their consistency levels up.

Our most consistent player for the last 4 years.

Good enough to be captain.

I'd say Pepe but i think he's higher than 3rd in a list of our most important players based on performances over recent seasons.

Yossi Benayoun - who holds the master keys of unlocking the tightest defence. He is the most unpredictable liverpool player currently.

I agree!!!  Although i would like to add Benayoun to that backbone- always feel better with him on the pitch!
Am loving most of our team at the moment- Would just like to get rid of Lucas and Ngog for Aquliani and Babel! (Mainly because they lose to ball way too eaisly!)

I think its Pepe , from what I hear he is vocal around the club , a very important player for us as you seen yesterday , maybe a future captain , Masherano is not to far behind but I think his form of late is to keep Barcalona aware what a decent player he is.

It's a little difficult to choose between Masch, Pepe and Carra. Not only that, I'd say Agger, Skrtel and Benayoun are important as well.

I think its fair to see things are as safe as Pepes hands. You just cant trust anything else. Nearly got the penalty too

Had no hesitation in naming Pepe Reina as the third most important player in the team, I always feel confident when he's between the sticks.

No brainer for me, has to be Pepe Reina.

The one player, possibily even more then Gerrard and Torres Id hate to take to the field without is Reina

Pepe Reina for me. Great keeper, hardly ever makes a mistake and has been one of our most consistent players this year

Hard call between Reina and Masch to be honest, I opted for Masch I think he is the best in the World in his position. I'm pissing myself that anyone picked Babel or Aquilani waiting on a few to say Lucas.

This season, Pepe has been our FIRST most important player.

Who the hell voted for Aquilani? What is this, Fifa?

I'll give it to Masch. He makes the space between the midfield and the back line his own, and even showed some guile as a RB with some attacking venom this weekend. Reina is one of the top keepers in the world undoubtedly, but Masch's footprints are all over every match. I think his only true weakness is his temper, but that comes with his aggressiveness.

Pepe although some might say Carra

All as important as each other but in terms of influence and confidence some players bring the obvious two are Torres and Gerrard. Riena is also important and has saved us so many times this season, others like Mascherano are Carragher also important key players

Damn I was gonna vote Cav.

For character and showing what playing for LFC is all about Carra, as far as influence on the pitch ability wise either Masch or Pepe.

F***ing hell, nearly clicked Riera instead of Reina for a minute!

A couple of years ago it would have been Carra without a doubt, but right now based on current form this season, Pepe. Then Mascherano, he's been solid too, and hitting some mean form, even at RB.

It was Pepe for me until Masch scored that screamer !

No brainer for me had to Pepe.  Important players to me are ones who are capable of changing a game and he's won us points on more than one occasion and not just this season.

Having said that - we all have a go from time to time but Dirk Kuyt has on many occasions stepped in and provided performances and goals when we've most needed them.

Is right    No competition really if you think about it, just how many points has Pepe saved us ?  Our defence has been a bit dodgy from time to time, but he's never let us down no matter who's in front of him.  Glad to say we are starting to look rock solid now, especially since Sotis has joined us.  Zonal marking worries me a bit, but Pepe copes well enough.  First Class goalie is our Pepe    Just love him.

Masch for me, Pepe sometimes is no needed when the other team park the bus, Masch is always required. Just for that.

Based on this year's performance.

Pepe, followed by Masch, followed by Benayoun.

I would have liked to put Mascherano out there as our 3rd best outfield player(which he is), but looking at the team overall you have to have a good keeper, in Pepe we have one of the best in the world, so from a team perspective I go for Pepe Riena.

Gerrards been poor this season and his attitude and work rate haven't impressed me at all so I'd say Torres is our most important player with Pepe coming second and Gerrard 3rd. I think it would be more appropriate to put this into an attack/defence sense.

There are 4-5 players in the side who are crucial to us and we can't afford to lose them. Basically because their world class and it would be extremely difficult to replace them. Reina does fall into this category.

this may sound strange but i think Reina is as important as Gerrard and torres.for me he is our most consistent performer for the last two seasons.god knows where wed be without him this season.

Honestly think about how many goals he stops in a given match.  Its pretty impressive when you think about it.

After the way this season has panned out it would be interesting to see the list if all players were eligible for this vote. I would suggest Reina wouldn't be third as this year he might actually be higher up

pep, no doubt, so consistent, he's the reason why we're still in hunt for 4th spot this season.

Agreed, I think he's completely underrated. But Pepe's got to be the third for me. Crucial part of every game, there's a reason why Cavalieri never starts in the League.

Yeh its because he makes the half time/full time cuppa's so needs to be in the dressing room 10 minutes before each half ends
