Why do you want to ban all cameras??!

To be honest, I hate seeing all those damn camera flashes during a game when someone takes a corner or set piece. People who do that usually come to the games for the wrong reasons.

I said in an earlier post that I dont care who plays but I would rather see Masch in midfield then right back.

Kelly at right back should be able to do the job with Masch enforcing in front in his usual style. Against a team like Wigan with us nearly at full strength in attack, it really shouldnt matter though...hopefully.

jus hope they try and have a go against us coz if they do well win by a couple of goals. if they sit back and let us attack we are in trouble and it could end a draw. we need babel and benny on the wings to cause them problems.

Anyone know if Johnson could be back for this one? Would be a great attacking option to have in defence with the potential loss of Agger for this game.

Johnson's been in training for a few weeks now so he should be at least on the bench.

I appriciate that Ms Torres and I wouldnt begrudge any genuine fan taking pictures of their kids first trip to Anfield etc but maybe if they did ban them it would put day trippers off as it might take something away from "the experience" of watching our team compared to actually supporting it. Seeing 50-100 flashes going off everytime we take a corner just boils my piss  ;)

Ok Ok, i understand- just dont tar everyone with the same brush!!

I think Johnson is back Vs Wigan- would be nice to see him- Although when Carra has been thrown on the wing he has done a good job going forward!!

I like that Formation mentioned earlier with no Lucas or Ngog- and Kuyt behind Torres-  I think maybe go 2 up then bring on Babel- i think i will judge him when he plays more!

Wigan Athletic's James McCarthy insists he has no regrets in shunning Liverpool
Teenage sensation has a promising future...
      By David Middleton
      7 Mar 2010 15:56:00

Wigan Athletic midfielder James McCarthy believes his made the right decision to turn down a move to Liverpool earlier in his career to develop at Hamilton.

The 19-year-old impressed in a behind-closed-doors game three years ago but choose to remain in Scotland despite having the opportunity to move to Anfield.

McCarthy stayed to learn his trade with Hamilton, playing more than 100 times, before sealing a £1.2 million move to the DW Stadium last summer.

“I was too young, just 16 at the time,” McCarthy told the People.

“If I had gone to Liverpool I would have been stuck in the reserves and not playing much. Playing first-team football was my main aim - that was my dream.

“Some of my mates wound me up and said I should go, but I was happy with my decision. I was also settled at home and didn't want to leave my mum and dad.

“I had just left school and it would have been hard to leave home. I thought the best thing for me was to get my head down and just keep on playing and that's worked out.

“I am delighted with the way things have gone. I played over 100 times for Hamilton and then I got this move. It couldn't be better.”

McCarthy has featured on 13 occasions for the Latics this season, scoring against Hull City in the FA Cup and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League in January.

He is now determined to help Wigan edge away from the relegation zone as his side prepare to take on Liverpool on Monday, and Roberto Martinez also believes he made the right choice in waiting to move south.

“I have always been a big admirer of James [McCarthy] and I followed his career for a long time,” he told the Sunday Mirror.

“When a youngster gets to play at such a young age it makes you sit up and take notice.

“That meant I was delighted when he made that rather strange decision not to go to a top, top club like Liverpool. I think that decision is being proved right now.”

      Rafa's pre-match talk { Wigan}

      On Glen Johnson's fitness...

He is really close. He has been training with us and yesterday we played a game against the reserves. He was involved so I have to decide if he will be in the squad or not, but I think he can be.

On the boost Johnson's return can give the team...
He is another player with quality so hopefully he will give us different options on the right side, we have had problems in this position. He has quality going forward and is the best in England in his position so I will be really pleased to see him back.

      On Agger's fitness...
He is okay. The knee is not a problem so I think he can train tomorrow and Sunday and be available for Monday.

Good news on Agger then. If Johnson doesn't make the startin eleven tomorrow It will probably mean Agger and Soto start in the middle.

Looking at the GD in the PL, we are 6 behind Spurs.. we should be looking at goals at DW tomorrow.

Got a good feeling about it.

0-4 Liverpool,... Torres, Gerrard, Benayoun, Johnson..

With what seems like age's since we last played we could could have some players back for tonight's game and the three points could take us back into 4th place.
Agger could make the squad after the injury and with Torres raring to go I am sure we could get the result, but what about the new pitch will it be ok and are Wigan gonna play football on the ground or adopt the long ball.

Wow under 12 hours to kick off and only 3 pages in the pre match thread.

Personally I think it's been far too long between games and I cant bloody wait to see the reds in action.

Its an opportunity to jump back in to the fourth spot and have city and Tottenham looking up at us regardless of the games in hand.

      Come on you reds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
