If we get him in on say a two year deal, he'd provide cover for Jovanovic on the left.  Then we'd have Maxi, Kuyt, Jovanovic and Garcia who could all play on the wings.  Cole and Pacheco could also be makeshift wingers (we've still got Gerrard and Aquilani who could play behind Torres or even potentially Pacheco).  If Gerrard is pushed up, still have Lucas, Mascherano and Poulson.  Only concern is that he's 32 but if he holds up for a year or two, we could move Babel on and use the money to reinforce other areas of the squad such as left back or perhaps another forward. 

N'Gog is good yes, but I'm not 100% sure he can lead the line by himself.  The competition will do him no harm either way.  If Torres is out, I'd like the strength in depth to play 2 or even 3 up front should it be required.

Ajax ONCE AGAIN stated that star players like SUAREZ might leave...just think a player like him or the more expensive Aguero would be able to play with Torres in the second striker role.  And Suarez can play on the wings v well.

No, Forlan took on a playmaker number 10 role, Suarez and Cavani took on the 2 striker roles.

The amount of money being talked by the papers for strikers such as Remy(I know he has already moved) for prices in and around 10-15mil... For that kinda money I would rather get a proven prem striker onboard such as Darren Bent, I know he only had a few good seasons all in all, but it seems that he has really found his feet the prem. I know he plays a lone front man role currently and so does Nando, I just think that it would work between them.

I think Bent could be closer to 20 right now, after the season he just had and 3 years left on his contract. Good homegrown players' prices are always inflated.

I'd F***ing love Bent here. But yeah, he wouldn't go for anything under 15m.

Wouldn't touch Bent with a barge pole, he was awful with Spurs and when ever I've seen him for England he has been poor as well.

Dexter, I doubt we can afford him but definately one I'd like to see (I think you all can tell!).

Yeah, they're having financial issues. I can't see them go out though, they were dominating Kiev earlier this week, but you never know. Either way, none of their players will go cheap.

Van der Vaart is looking for a move. Would be a good replacement for Aquilani if you ask me, if Roy even wants a replacement
