Gokhan Inler from Udinese in Italy is being linked with us. Fee rumored to be bout 8 million which in my opinion would be a steal. From what I've seen of Inler he has impressed me. But if there is any chance we could get Defour from Liege I would die a happy man. Defour is the exact type of player who from when I've seen him play can boss a midfield and is the box to box midfielder we crave.

Forget it guys. All we will end up doing is selling top class youngsters and buying C-grade players like Konchesky in the window.

So Koncheskey and Mareile are more or less done, now all that's remaining is a striker.Would be happy with that Ola guy but Huntelaar would be an amazing signing.

Yeh i think we need a 'well heard of player' to be honest up front :-[
Not this Ola guy i'm afraid
What other strikers have there been concrete links for?

Mate I'm with you.  I've been dying for a £20-25M player like Suarez but we cannot afford them.  Ola or the Dutch kid RVW would be ok.  We need to get somebody in quick - have never replaced Keane and it's cost us to be so short of striking options

Think I'd rather get Huntelaar then for 10 million. He's currently linked to Schalke for that ammount.

Agree about huntelaar....love to see him at our club.
Also pav from spurs if they are in for fabiano.
But I feel we need two strikers.
One big and strong holdup target player and one nippy little fella
Ngog has done great and is looking better but he is neither of those and is not remotely threatening.
Go for huntalaar and a defoe type player.
Pacheco is neither but hope so much that he is played as much as possible

Big fella - Carroll before Man Scum get him (Huntelaar not been very good of late)
      Nippy fella - Agbonlahor

No idea about strikers.....seems to have gone very quiet on that front.

      New Striker?
Getting a bit worried about the fact that we haven't brought in a striker yet.  Hoping and praying that Liverpool have a Raul Meireles ace up their sleeve when it comes to getting us a striker before the transfer window closes.

      Some thoughts

      1.  Overseas Strikers we've been linked with:
           - Could we tempt Bryan Ruiz away from FC Twente without Champions League?
           - Will PSV let go of Ola Toivonen for less than a silly price?  Is anything over £10Million good value?
           - Dutch kid, Ricky Van Wolfswinkel - is he too young, much better than N'Gog, too slight for the Premier League?

      2. English Strikers:
          - Not a fan of Carlton Cole and would hate to lose one of our players in a swap deal for him - he doesn't have a good work rate,
doesn't score that many goals and will be injured far more than Torres
          - Bobby Zamora - at 29, not one for the future.  But prefer him to Carlton Cole, has a knack for goals and obviously has a close
            relationship with Roy already
          - Not been linked with either but the likes of Gabby Agbonlahor and Andy Carroll would be better long-term options in my mind.  But I
doubt their clubs would let them go unless we paid over the odds and with our finances, that won't happen

      3. A Raul Meireles slealth buy:
         - I personally believe we'll end up with somebody nobody has yet to link us with as negotiations for our targets are dragging on and
somebody might have been made available by their club/allowed to leave in the last few days before the transfer window shuts.  Spurs
seem to be looking at Lazio's Zarate and also Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi (solid player, even if he played for Man U).  Might be available and
worth a shot.  I rate Rossi higher.

      4. Should we go down the route of loan deals - there has been talk of Gomez or Huntelaar but I am pretty sure Huntelaar will end up at
Shalke any time now and Gomez won't leave Bayern (not that he's any good).

      5. Depressing but we all know we can't afford anyone close to the quality of Aguero, Dzeko or Suarez.  The takeover speculation allowed me
to dream for a minute but the reality of life as we now know it has sunk in. So I am not even considering somebody of that calibre.

So I have one question for you guys.  Who do you think we'd REALISTICALLY get or should try for?

Well we have to get one that's for sure or we have absolutely no chance of champs lge football as torres will get injured and we have no one to replace him

Don't know what you guys think, but I seriously rate Craig Gardner at Birmingham. Whether he is our quality and whether he would struggle at a better team is another issue, but he atm is quality and could have alot of potential as an attacking mid.
