Amazing what technology does these days. I was looking at the house I lived in from when I was 1 year old until I was 15. I left 4 years ago and with it - my childhood. So I was absolutely thrilled when I found out it was in street view - bringing back a flood of delightful memories!

Turn it to the right and you can see the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory. It's the white building with the red roof. Awesome ice cream and a nice deck to eat it on while checking out the skyline. Coincidentally, that's also just about the spot where U2 did that 'Live under the Bklyn Bridge' ep for iTunes a few years back.

Link = Used to love playing football here years ago. I scored my first 'official' goal on these pitches.

Yeah, Bronx is right mate. Sort them out Billy so we can have a geg. Click the 'link' word in the top right hand corner and copy that code - not the address bit at the top.

Empire State Building, built in 16 months, completed in May 1931
      102 Floors plus antenna = 1,454 ft (443m)
Looks better at night, colors change according to seasons, holidays,  special events etc...
Observation deck on 86th floor, on a clear day you can see over 50 miles easy

On a personal note, my grandfather helped to build the ESB, but before it was completed he was hit by a falling brick and lost his sight.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather losing his sight mate.

Love seeing those two places you grew up though. That's why I love this thread. A street means a whole lot more than just a pic of a street to people.

Here's my old school. Can't believe they've put those square grass things in on the yard where we used to play footy!

Lived here when I was in Cali. What a great house. You could see the Pacific Ocean from the front.

No worries, guys. Thanks. I never met him. He died in 1956 when my dad was a kid.

I know what you mean, Ken. If only I could show the amount of fun I had as a kid. I had such a great childhood in my neighborhood.

Yeah, Keith. Awesome views of the bridge. We used to hang out down by the water at night drinking. In fact, here ya go . This is one of the ways down to the water. Now I see it from the other side (Staten Island) .. not as nice, of course. ;)

When did ya live there BR? Monterey is beautiful isn't it though! I absolutely loved it, and brilliant Clam Chowder on that pier with all the restaurants :D

My girl spent alot of time there growing up being from San Jose, and also got certified in Scuba diving there :)
