                        Reina
      Johnson  Agger   Sotis   Insua
      Yossi     Gerrard  Masch  Babel
                  Torres   Ngog

No Kuyt for me cos he's sh*t, no need for Lucas and Carra is still shaky at the back so I'd pop Sotis in there.

Would definately put The Greek at the back- we dont want to be conceeding!

If our boys can put in the same performance as they did against Pompey- we will be fine, we dont want our goal to just be fighting for 4th-
      As for resting players-  Whatever!!
They have 2 days rest before we visit the mancs- and they get paid more than enough top play 3 games in 7days!!

      Comeeeeeee Onnnnnn!!!   3-0   Gerrard,Torres,Kuyt

I'd Almost bet me mortgage on it, Lucas and Kuyyt will start. we will go all defensive again and get caught on the break with about 10 mins to go. Sorry, just can't see any reason for Rafa to change what he's done all season.  It's crap but he sticks with it. He only made the selections which were succesfull agains Pompey, so he could rest his favourite underperforming two. Expect the same against the Mancs as well. I'm totally deflated because I know we can do so much better, yet I sort of know what to expect.

;D is everyone just ignoring all the previous posts and making up their own teams? Maxi can't play because he is cup-tied, Masch took a knock against porthsmouth so he probably wont play and Aquilani has a virus so he most likely wont even make an appearance. That Means Lucas and Kuyt are 100% going to start.

      Pepe: Roar us through

Pepe Reina has urged Liverpool fans to crank up the volume inside Anfield tonight and roar the Reds into the Europa League quarter finals at Lille's expense.

      Reina on Lille test

The French side arrive in L4 holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg last week, but Reina is confident a fervent Kop can play a key role in helping Rafael Benitez's men book a place in Friday's draw.

"All I hope and ask for is for Anfield to be behind us and the supporters to create a nice atmosphere because we will need them," said the goalkeeper.

"It's massively important, that's why I am asking for it.

"We know the fans will be behind us once again. All of us are asking the supporters to stay behind the team more than ever and support us from the beginning.

"The fans know it will make it much easier for us. The commitment, passion and desire to win the game will be much, much higher this way."

Liverpool head into tonight's encounter with confidence buoyed by Monday's impressive 4-1 demolition of Portsmouth.

Reina acknowledges the comprehensive manner of the victory over Pompey has lifted morale in the Reds camp, though he is well aware Lille will pose a difficult proposition following a tricky first leg in France.

He said: "A win is a win. Of course, when you win 4-1 at home in front of your supporters it's even better, but we know the Europa League is another competition against a different rival and it will be tough.

"Of course it is a lift (to beat Portsmouth), but it will be difficult."

He added: "We have always had belief. We know we can play good football.

"European football is something we like. Unfortunately we were knocked out of the Champions League, but we still have really good hopes in the Europa League.

"It is the last option we have to lift a trophy this season - that's why it is so important and it is massive for us."

A trip to Old Trafford to tackle Manchester United follows hot on the heels of the Lille clash - though Reina insists no-one at Melwood is looking beyond this evening's encounter.

"First we will focus on the Lille game," he said. "Sunday is a massive game for us and our supporters, but first is Lille and we know they will be really tough.

"Our only concern now is to try and beat Lille and stay as fit as possible for Manchester United."

Can't see the team changing much from the win over Portsmouth.

For me though, I'm still not ready to see Kuyt in the Red top just yet. Benni on for Maxi, put Babel on right and Benni out left.

Gonna be a cagey first 20 minutes or so, but if we get an early goal, the boys will relax a bit and a boisterous Anfield crowd should get the lads over the line.

I'm going for a 3-0 win but we gotta concentrate for the full 95 minutes. No slacking off lads.

Torres at the double and a Stevie G special, God knows we're well overdue on seeing a Gerrard cracker.

      Well said Pepe!

If our famous 12th man can get behind us tonight we will wake up in the quarter finals tommorow.

I am hoping Torres will brake his European duck this year with a nice brace.

      Come on boys!!

Only 3 pages of posts  :(

Anyway, get this game won early on and we can take some of our big guns off for the manc game.

If we play with as much fervour and passion as we did on Monday I'll be happy, and as long as the crowd raise their game too.

So come on the mighty REDS lets have another special European night at Anfield, I for one will be singing my heart out on the KOP.

About to leave for Liverpool in about half an hour, so enjoy the game everyone and lets get that win we need to get us through to the next round.

COME ON YOU MIGHTY REDMEN !!!!!

I also think a 3 - 0 win in tonights game will be the result, as long as the Kop get behind the lads, and agree Aussie, we are well over due for a Stevie G cracker. So come on you Reds.

Im really pumped up for this game, and thankfully its on at a better time tonight rather than 6 o'clock. No need to rush home :)
Would be good if Torres gets 1 or 2 tonight to get him really confident for Sunday.

I know.  Absolute joke. You can tell where some people's priorities lie - bashing Lucas or Rafa or focussing on the club's important games.

I'm less confident about this now than I was at the start of the week.

Could be Riera's spanner in the works comments, or more likely the illness to Aquilani and the knock that Mascherano took.

If Lille get the first goal we will have some uphill task.  I'm worried about the fact we haven't got an away goal and I think they will get one - especially seeing as Liverpool with Carragher at CB can't hold their own water.

We'll need a few goals tonight.  If it's 2-0 with 3 minutes left you just know we'll implode and concede the killer goal.

I didn't know Masch had picked up a knock, that's a blow.  But Nando was great on Monday so hoping he's well and truly back. Real shame about Aquilani's illness as well.  Is Pacheco back from U19 duty yet?  Would like to see him feature if he is.  Really looking forward to this now.
