It has to be Rafa. But if he goes , it cant be Jose.  Still fancy Martin O'neill for the job, if the worst happens.

Which way do you want the club to go, you must remember the days of fighting for a top 6 place on a regular basis, some years we were up others down but always the title was out of reach, until last season, the preferences seem Mourinho who I think would want certain conditions to take over, he wont get them. Kenny, don't know what he is thinking, he is getting on a bit now and with Marina having recovered would he want all the stress. Thomson, if he was going to get it it would have happened in 04, cant see it myself.

I hope Rafa stays and gets the funding he deserves, he, beter than anyone can get us moving again, Rafa knows this club inside out, so he must be given the funding so he can see the job through, anything else could spell a long wait.

Did I touch a dutch nerve there!

And the European Cup Rijkaard won was 2006 and was a bit lucky that Arsenal's keeper was sent-off, a certain team won it in 2005!!
Not a nerve, I just respect the guy, and yes because I'm dutch I know alot about him. With 2005/2006 I meant season 2005/2006 ofcourse. ;) And lucky or not, someone who isn't good at handling pressure in big games as you say does not achieve as much as he did as a player and a manager.

I am to old to start worrying now, I've seen it all from days when the title was just a dream to now, so my pent up frustration left me a while ago, although I still get down after days like today, why let it worry you, there is little you can do about it. I like Benitez he's a thinking man and keeps his council, he stays calm, I like that in managers, I hope before much longer to be able to watch us win the title once again, and I believe Benitez is the best person to bring this about.

Boss logic there Alliphone. The mind boggles.

You would seriously take anyone over Rafa? You think some pisshead from the pub at the top of my street, for example, would do a better job? Even given the circumstances Rafa has had to work under?

Rafa Benitez will be in charge next season. He is in his first year of a 5 year deal for 20 million pounds. The owners put their faith in him when they agreed to the deal, a deal which I feel sure included giving Rafa more control over the youth set up. It would also have included some mutual agreement clauses in terms of the transfer funds allocation.
The owners believe Rafa is capable of continuing to produce a competitive team on a limited budget.

The only way it may change is either if the owners included an out clause in the event that Rafa fails to make top 4.

or if Rafa included a clause on how much additional transfer monies should be given to him to spend and the owners reneg on it.

Rafas excuses are getting more and more worrying every week!!! If he cares about the club and fans so much then he should resign and if he does leave then the only one person who could take his place as manager is jose mourinho.
