Stevie's tip for future captain

Pepe Reina has been tipped as a future Liverpool captain by the man currently wearing the armband.

Steven Gerrard believes the 27-year-old has all the qualities on and off the pitch to one day lead the team.

"Pepe has proved this year that he is one of the best goalkeepers in the world," Gerrard told LFC Weekly.

"He's got a massive future here. He's a character and someone who is great to have around the dressing room.

"In training and on the pitch he's fantastic. He's always positive and helping his teammates. I can see a captain in him.

"As far as goalkeepers are concerned, he's still young. So I can see him captaining this club in the future.

"I certainly hope he does because he deserves it."

doubt it, he's been his own biggest critic this season, he'll stay and put things right. Pepe will will most likely be playing for Libpool for another 10 years. Should be captain without doubt when the time comes for Stevie to hang up his boots...

IMO he should hand the captaincy to Pepe now, Hyypia was happy to pass it on when he was skipper.
