When going forward he is quite dangerous, but defending he is a complete disgrace. Wouldn't sign him.

The only reason we're being linked with him is probably because he is well within our price range ;)

Facebook pages aren't obviously controlled by the players themselves. Just some sad people with nothing to do start making stories because they're bored ;D

That Facebook page was made in July 2008, not recently. Very much doubt it's true though.

The "recent activity" has joined facebook.

That's because he's done so little (on Facebook) in those two years. If you look at the uploaded photos, they are from July 2008.

Yeah agreed mate, and I don't think he'd put it on his Facebook before it is announced or even spoken about in the media.

Not a chance in a million years we are going to sign him, he is the total opposite to what Hodgson believes in. He is a lazy bugger who had one good tournament when he was younger.

Dutch defender/midfielder Royston Drenthe is continually being linked with a move away from Real Madrid and the former Holland under-21 star has now revealed that he's set to leave Madrid for Premier League side Liverpool.

It's not yet clear whether Liverpool and Real Madrid have already agreed  terms, but Drenthe appears confident that he'll ply his trade in the Premier League next term. "I will soon be joining Liverpool. I hope I will have a good season with my new club," the 23-year-old Dutchman was quoted as saying, according to the Daily Star.

Drenthe joined Real Madrid from Feyenoord in the summer of 2007, but the left footed wing-back never really managed to secure regular first team action at the Santiago Bernabeu. Therefore, he could now be looking to relaunch his career at Liverpool.

The Reds are in the market for a new left back following the departure of Fabio Aurelio, while Emiliano Insua and Philipp Degen also appear to be on their way out of Anfield. New manager Roy Hodgson supposedly sees Drenthe as the perfect candidate to fill the void at left back.

The former Feyenoord star would be the third Dutchman at Liverpool if the transfer indeed materialises. Compatriots Ryan Babel and Dirk Kuyt are already under contract at Anfield.

Interesting if true but doubt it. I remember him playing against us in the CL a few years back, he looked really good but hasn't done much at Madrid.

This is not the kind of player we should buy if we want to improve.

This just goes to show the quality of football "journalism" that's about at the moment. Papers are using a facebook page that Drenthe doesn't even know about to write a story!!
Who's up for setting up a facebook page for Xabi Alsono with a status saying:
"I realised I made a big mistake coming to Real Madrid. Thank God the door was still open for me to return home..to Liverpool. Roll on next season!"

You never know it might start the ball rolling!!  ;)
