After being taken off at half time I doubt we see him again in a red shirt.

May as well played with 10 men first half.

      Hope it's true

It's quoting an article from caughtoffside and that site makes tabloid reporting look world class.

Stevie reckoned he would be a good addition to the team.

That's why most footballers should stick to just playing football rather than engaging their very limited brains!

'The boss also had words of encouragement for Joe Cole who came close to getting his first goal in a red shirt on his 31st birthday.

He added: "Joe did very well tonight. His movement was good and it looked more like what Joe can produce in terms of the final third.

"Across the team, there were excellent performances. We're just very disappointed to have made the mistake that eventually led to us losing the game."

Agreed but how many times have we said this now?

I know Rodgers has connections with Cole but my suspicion is that he gets these games purely to put him in the shop window in the hope that he does "ok" and another club decides to take a gamble on him. Instead, he just keeps proving what a disasterous signing he was.
The only shop window that would have him is a pawn shop or an Oxfam shop.

Or preferably one in Amsterdam then we could earn a few quid off the back of him. Let's face it the only way we're getting shut is if we pay him off for the rest of his contract, no team in the prem is going to buy him and those that might couldn't afford his wages, same goes for any foreign teams that would be interested.

To illustrate your point mate some paper talk of Lille coach Rudi Garcia ruling out signing Cole because of the player's excessive wage demands.

I have a picture of Cole in an abandoned store window cobwebs galore and well padlocked, while the shop owners have re-located to new enhanced premises and improved staffing levels.

And we thought we had the chavs over with the sale of Torres :)

On a serious note Joe must know deep down himself that his time is coming to an end at Anfield and by prolonging the evevitable will only alienate himself from fans and clubs.

Just take a pay cut and move on.

Just doesn't fit in to our team in any way, IMO.

When he plays, regardless of who is lined up alongside him, he just looks out of place, like it's his first game and he doesn't know his teammates at all.

If I were manager, I wouldn't play him again. I can't see these odd-games increasing his value at all, I'd just rather see our more regular players continue their progress as a unit, or blood youngsters.

      Again, just my opinion.

Exactly why his motives are being questioned Shabs, he is 31 and on the slippery slope there cannot be any doubt in the player's mind that his next career move is going to be a number of steps down from his present status and the associated spondoolies.
It must be assumed that he has taken the unprofessional decision to burden LFC with his sub-standard performances while being rewarded for a top job, that in itself is highly disreputable conduct and only allowed to continue with a little help from his agent and contractual obligations.
The case for Cole wanting to extend his actual playing days and appearences obviously takes second place, there again if that involves not inflicting people with his dour, unimaginative displays so be it.
