He met with Roy last week and it would have been a very easy win for him to come out the day after and say "I've spoken to Roy, like what he says and we want to work together blah blah blah...".

If there's one thing Roy should say to Stevie it's that Real Madrid is where players go to sh*t up their career. By staying at Liverpool Stevie cements his position as an absolute Anfield legend, up there with the greats. By moving to Madrid he will be remembered as a traitor and a glory hunter irrespective of his motives or desires. We know Stevie is Liverpool through and through, but if his ambitions as a player get in the way of that then that's all he'll be remembered for.

If I were a Liverpool fan all my life, playing for Liverpool FC, I wouldn't want to leave them for any team. If I was getting paid £140,000 a week to play for the team i support, I wouldn't leave for any team no matter what wage they offered me.
£1 million a week? I'd rather stay at Anfield. As if you need more than 140k a week anyway.

No english players have ever gone to Madrid and had anywhere near the success that they had in England.

Based on that I don't think Gerrard will ever leave.

Gerrard: I won't quit

Steven Gerrard insists there is no way he will quit international football.

Liverpool's No.8 has ruled out following in the footsteps of the likes of Paul Scholes and Jamie Carragher, who have made themselves unavailable to England.

Instead he hopes to add to his 84 caps and erase painful memories of the 4-1 World Cup exit to Germany.

"There is no way I want the disappointment of the Germany game to be my last for England," said Gerrard.

"It was such a low and I am determined to do as much as I can to make amends for what happened.

"I expect there to be a lot of changes to the squad and it is up to the manager whether I am selected, but I am going to continue to make myself available for my country."

Gerrard's comments come after Carragher confirmed he was once again withdrawing from the international scene following his South Africa jaunt.

Thank you Reprobate but for fear of being neg again i think its best not to say anything unless the person who neg me gives me my pos back. Ive a good idea who it is but obviously can't be 100% sure. However, thanks for your support
