This is all down to Masch.I know we could have not sold him until a proper bid didn't come but think of the repercussions a moaning Masch might have had on the squad. He has lost all the respect I had for him, let's hope his career goes downwards from here.

We couldn't have rejected the bid redkasier because of the financial position the club is in we had no option but to sell.

Fabergas wanted to go to Barc but because did not offer what they wanted did they sell of course they didn't. Ridiculous bit of business from the club.

I'm somewhat inclined to blame Masch for agitating for a transfer so much. Not playing in a Premiership game just sent out the signal that he was definitely leaving, inviting less than acceptable bids. Losing money on a player who's improved so much since he joined us (and considering his situation as West Ham he should be F***ing grateful to us), and is now the Argentinian captain is the most ridiculous piece of business I've seen us do for some time now.

It's F***ing insulting that we got £17.25million for Mascherano and Villa get £30 million for Milner.

And now we see whether Roy's actually going to have the resources to bring a GOOD replacement in. He needs most of that Masch money really. But who's really willing to bet he'll see a penny?

We can blame Masch but if the club was stronger and in a better financial position we could have just rejected the bid because it was £8 million short of what we were looking for.

But because the owners wants to hang on and if he was kept any longer and with the length of his contract falling his value would have dropped our owners and board paniced and they accepted Barc ridiculous offer.

Why is it that we never get the value for our players that others seem to get, something seriously wrong in that dept.

Agree 100% with you there. Go back a couple of years, we lost £6m on Robbie Keane in the space of three months. I don't know the ins and outs of these transfer negotiations but whoever does them is really really crap at their job

Interestingly, Hodgson was quoted as saying that the last-minute bid from Inter was a 'joke bid' - if £17m is acceptable in the club's eyes, I wonder what exactly was Inter's bid - 50p + a king-size kit kat?

The sad thing is even if some how the Yanks give Hodgson all the money what good will it be. Spurs were quoted at £15 million for Scott Parker a 30 year old with a couple of England caps.

Shows what pittance we sold Masch for £17 million for the current Argentina captain and possibly the best holding midfielder on the planet sad times for the club.

      So let me get this..

We pay £18 million for a largely unkown player who was languishing in West Hams reserves, getting little to no game time, struggling to get in to his national team and on the verge of his career going completly down the sh*t pan.. We basically doubled his wages, give him first team football, which leads to him becoming the captain of his national side and eventually to him becoming one of the most established defensive midfielders in the world.

Then we accept a bid 2 million less than we oringinally payed for him with potential add ons from one of the wealthiest clubs in the world after all we have helped him achieve?

Other European clubs must think were a f**king joke in the transfer market, we make the most ridculous descions its unreal. Signing players like Aquliani for 20 million, giving them 10 games then loaning them out. Selling players like Mascherano for 16 million who is possibly the best defensive midfielder in the world.

Whoever is in charge of our transfers needs their bloody head screwing back on, were an embarssment.
Add on to this the fact that Roy will probably only see half of this money to even attempt to spend on bringing players in...

      Insanity.

To be honest if this is the way Roy intends to manage the club he can go find some cliff and jump. 17.5 million? I saw it on the BBC and I said that couldn't be true...but here's a fact Barca would've never offered that under Rafa's reign, despite how sad financial state of the club is. Simple because he they know he isn't that stupid. Now people probably say oh it's Purslow and not Hodgson, but serious what kind of integrity does he have to remain in a job like this one? Where some pr**k dictates his every move? He says one thing and then look foolish when the other happens.

I admire any manager that works under these conditions, but at one point you have to draw the line. Unless you see us a Fulham and we're playing for mid table.

F***ing riduculos, how did this negotiation go. "we'll offer you 17.25m for masch" LFC - "You'll have to up that offer" Barca - "No we're not" LFC - "Ok then we'll take that". Masch is worth at least 25m, the job is fu**ed. Roy better get his magic wand out because if we perform like we did against city without a centre mid field we will be lucking to qualify for the Europa cup next year. This better not be the beginning of the mass Anfield exodus. Nando will be next at this rate. The board needs to get a F***ing grip - not fit to run any football club never mind one as great as ours. It said it all when that c**t from BA came to stick his ten penith in. WANKERS

      An utter disgrace.

But when you think about who's running the club and our financial state, can any of us truly say we're surprised?

We knew this was coming, but it doesn't make one F***ing bitter pill any easier to swallow.

Pissed off. It's August 27th. Who the F**k are we going to sign over the weekend to make all this seem better?

I'm going to put this is prospective these are fees paid or prices quoted
      -£25 million Milner
      -£28 million Toure
      -£24 million Lescott
      -£20 million Ramires
      -£23 million Wright Phillips
      -£17.5 million Carrick
      -£17 million Anderson
      -£20 million Carlton Cole
      -£20 million Arteta
      -£15 million Scott Parker
      -£24 million Di Maria
      -MASCHERANO £17.25 million
I think that list puts how much we got in prospective, at actual shameful bit of business from the club.

Disgusted by this, ya he wanted to F***ing go but why sell him on the cheap. Purslow should hang his head in shame, a joke of a transfer.
