      Cesc to Barca
      May 18, 2010 04:26:10 pm
Seems he has expressed his time to move

Will be a shame as Arsenal will be so weak next season if he does go, wonder how much they will get? Will YAYA switch...

      Will they buy Masch too?

      Interestings >:D

Looks like this is going to happen, says they are close to signing Villa as well and maybe they will sign Masch as well. What are you talking at least £120 million. F**k me how can we compete with that.

Reported on every radio station I had on today. . . Barca in for both players. What a team they would have then. We could pick up a lot of Spanish rejects on the cheap this summer

      Quality.

Arsenal get weaker, we get the chance of getting some mediocre players on the cheap. And I thought I'd get depressed this summer! ;)

Seriously though, as Corbally said, we are totally unable to compete in the transfer market. Even if Masch leaves and we get £30-odd million, it just seems like peanuts nowadays.

Just listening to Guiam Balague and apparently Barca dont want to spend more than 30m on him as he was a youth player with them etc but Arsenal will hold out for more or maybe get YaYa toure as part of the deal. Massive loss for the Gooners...and YES ....I personally think they'll still go for Masch...and get him :(

Is he eventually a replacement for Xavi? I'm not sure where he fits in that midfield. There is nothing wrong with having too many options instead of too little, of course.

If they get all 3, i don't see any team alive competing with them.

How the F**k do you beat Masch, Fabregas, Iniesta, Xavi and Messi in one F***ing midfield? Oh, and Villa up top. Oh and Valdes in goal. Oh silly me, forgot Pique and Puyol with a bloke called Milito sitting on the bench.

      And Pedro!!

Right, i'm off to support them. Nice knowing you's...

Wenger being Wenger he will let him go cheap, tends to do that with his captains when they are playing the best football of their career.

      Viera - £18m

      Henry - £16m

Cesc - IMO it will be £25m.

      Hahaha quality crouchy.

      True isn't it.

You can't blame players for wanting to play for them aswell. Especially ones like Fabregas who's spanish, has played for them in his younger years and no matter how long he plays, may never get the chance to play a better club again.

And Pedro! People seem to forget about him and he's F***ing brilliant! I reckon in the next few years his value's gona massively increase.

Does this mean the end of Ibrahimovic at Barca though? Villa would be playing through the middle of the 3 pronged attack, Messi out wide along with Pedro/Bojan.

I don't think Barca actually need him to be honest, they have become dominant with their current mids - Xavi, Iniesta, Buquets, Toure and Keita.

The news kept showing how much Fabregas contributed to Arsenal squad last season in goals and assists. It would be really painful for Arsenal to lose him.

Sell 2 or if not all 3 of Busquets, Toure and Keita to bring in Fabregas and Masch I'm thinking, or at least Fabregas.

Well, to be fair to Cesc, it's very tempting to play with Xavi, Messi, Iniesta and Villa.

Fortunately for Torres, he plays with them for Spain, except Messi.

      What ... ?

Even I don't rate Ibrahimovic. I think he's just Berbatov. I actually feel Eto'o, Villa, Torres, Drogba, Rooney and van Persie are better strikers.

When I said "Wished we could sign players like them", I meant Barcelona signing the likes of David Villa, Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi at a young age and not "players like Ibrahimovic".

Worrying to see the Spanish league raping the PL teams for players. They obviously know the financial situation at most if not all the clubs and are trying to get players on the cheap. £30m for Cesc is ridiculous, he's worth twice that.

If the best players continue to head to Spain, the PL will lose its crown as the strongest league in Europe/World.

I haven't seen anything along the lines of him saying he wont consider staying. What he has said is that he wants his future resolved before the World Cup and should he leave Arsenal then it will only be for Barca. Also he owes Wenger nothing because he could have gone last year, or the year before that. It was only a matter of time before Cesc wanted to return to Barca (his home).

Same. He's young, still his best yet to come. Going on the precedent set by Madrid last season, that is a fair price. Think this may be quite a saga over the summer, Wenger wants a bit more from him before he let's him go I reckon.

He said something like he would like to go back to Barcelona and wants his future solved before going for the World Cup but he also stated he's not in a hurry to leave. Something like Alonso's case. Wants to go back but won't be down hearted if he does stay.

The lad has been given the captaincy and a massive payrise to become Arsenals highest ever wage earner and has not long ago signed another long term contract . If he fucks off now i will be seriously pissed at him . He is still only 21 , surely the Barca move can wait for a couple more years . Look at Barcas midfield now , they don't need him yet , we sure as F**k do .

      Pretty sure, racer.

I reckon one more season for Arsenal. If Wenger signs some real talent instead of his bolony mid budget transfers then they could show Fabregas they're headed for the right direction.

Exactly crouchinho , if Wenger don't sign us at least 3 top drawer players we are in for another season of promise and hope . F**k that !!! I've gorged myself on promise and hope for the last 5 years . Wenger must realise that his "youth policy" whilst admirable and romantic hasn't brought us the results . He must buy some well established talent to compliment his "wonderkids"

I don't want Cesc to move to Spain! He should join Liverpool.

      I'm joking.

If he does move, I'd hardly get to see him play because I enjoy watching him play :( I don't really watch Spanish La Liga or Italian Seria A.

Who, Ibrahimovic, He is sh*te,i'd much prefer Aguero or E'to than him, Ive seen him play for Juve and Inter and now Barca and i have never been impressed by him, I don't think EPL is his cup of tea either and would struggle with the speed and hard tackles, The man is a Pussy!
I have 2 friends in Italy, one a Milan fan and the other Inter. Both agree that Ibrahimovic is an amazing player and neither were surprised when Barca gave up so much to get him. The AC Milan fan hailed him as the best player in Europe the season before he joined Barca.
I've never seen anything that great about him either but these are lads that have watched him week-in, week-out.

I guess when it comes to goal scoring, he does it relatively well but he doesn't seem move alot and pretty much just waits in most of the Barca games I've watched, a handful of games and it doesn't impress me.

The Barca team, on the other hand, have alot of movements and Ibrahimovic kinda slows them down, IMO.

His dribbling and free kicks are pretty good though.

I thought Ibra would be a great fit in Barca given his skills, but you're right, he's not much of a mover, and that is valued in a team like theirs. He's basically a holding striker who has more than enough skill to get the goal himself instead of waiting for his teammates to join.

That being said, take him Barca, would do us well to not have to face Cesc twice a year anymore :)

I cant see Cesc getting his hope of this being resolved before the World Cup, apparently there has been no contact yet.

If he goes, that might prove that the EPL is going down the drain. Well, I don't think that but lots of people will.

      Woo hoo, interesting stuff happening.

Francesc Sr. has told Arsenal to respect his son's wishes of returning to Barcelona while former teammate, Hleb, regrets moving to Barcelona and is telling Cesc to stay.

      Haha.

Hleb only didn't like it because he was used as a squad player. I don't think Fabregas would be regarded as that.

Funny that his father is saying to respect the wishes of the player. What about the F***ing club? He is under contract, so there has to be equal respect given to the club since he is their most important player and you don't give that up lightly. F***ing hate people who think like that.

Arsenal have just rejected an offer for him and have said they are not selling him!

Is this just a comment made by Arsenal to get the price up? SSN just said that Arsenal are looking for €87m.

No one is going to pay €87 million for Fabregas, that's insane. He's a former FC Barcelona player, it doesn't make any sense.

Apparently it was an offer of £29m. Surprised Wenger didn't accept it to be honest.

29m is pittance for Fabregas. I reckon he's worth 50m.

      Barca reveal transfer kitty
Spanish champions have €50 million to spend this summer

Barcelona have confirmed they have €50 million (£41.7m) to spend in the transfer market this summer.

The Spanish giants were forced to seal a five-year €155 million loan on Wednesday in order to resolve long-term cash-flow problems.

Since June Barca have had issues regarding player and staff wages and new president Sandro Rosell has set about resolving the club's finances.

The Catalans have already secured a move for former Valencia striker David Villa this summer, for €40 million, while there is the ongoing transfer saga with Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas.

Spain midfielder Fabregas was forced into a Barca shirt by team-mates during his country's World Cup celebrations, and the La Liga champions will be hoping their transfer budget will be enough to lure him to the Nou Camp.

"The club has approximately €50 million net to spend on new players each season," said a statement on the club's official website.

"In the case of this season, buying David Villa (€40 million) combined with the sales of Yaya Toure and Dmytro Chygrynskiy balance themselves out.

"This means the club still has €50 million to spend."

Barca have already had a bid of €35 million (£29m) for Fabregas rejected by the Gunners, and they are expected to up that offer.

It remains to be seen if funds from further player sales will be added to the kitty, as speculation regarding the futures of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Rafael Marquez continues

if barcelona actually do buy fabregas he won't get starting. fabregas is a brilliant player but he'll be a sub because who will he replace in their lineup. Busquets is the holding midfielder. xavi and iniesta are their playmakers and he's not as good as them. keita also is a possible starter. on left wing they have pedro/bojan/maxwell. and i doubt he'll get picked ahead of messi. i think he'll stay at arsenal for another season unless barcelona offer a ridiculous bid.

They have 50 million euro to spend, that is after buying Villa for 40 million and a winger from 9 million from Sevilla. How exactly does Purslow and his bosses think we can compete.

I've got no doubt, I'm 100% sure Fabregas will move if not this season, then the next. He's Barca through and through, and we know how much the Catalan people love their own. It's a bit similar to the Scouse in England, though not entirely. Cesc is seen as a direct replacement for Xavi, who is starting to age. He's pretty much the perfect player to step in a replace Xavi, almost identical in their play I'd say. Which is why perhaps he wouldn't start were he to move immediately, although I have heard he would be played on the left, but with the rise of Pedro that might no longer be the case.
