Mr Prime Minister,
a matter close to my and many others hearts and minds is the current debarcle that is occurring at the hands of the american owners at Liverpool Football club. I am sure you are aware that there is increasing tension surrounding the owners tennure at the club and that it is currently up for sale. Mis managed finances and a series of lies have lead to the club being in a state of demise. A football and England institution is in the state of disarray and there is little if nothing that seems possible for the supporters to do to ensure the wellbeing of the club is maintained.
A pertinent point that is continually brought about by the forums of the Liverpool fans is the part that the Royal Bank of Scotland and the new chairman Martin Broughton are playing in this process. We are aware from reports that the chairman wishes the sale to be completed in privacy, something which is understandable, however there has been no interest or release of details by the RBS group, merely speculation that theoutstanding financial position has been extended to allow for teh sale of the club.
I for one am not happy that this is being allowed to happen, in the midst of the current financial situation it was the RBS that was given government support to claw themselves from the brink of disaster. It is the tax payers money that has gone to do this, my money included, and here they are allowing the financial state at LFC to dwindle and sit back casually while this happens. Please Mr Prime Minister can this matter be addressed and pressure be commenced with the owners and banks who hold their grip to a dying institution.
The stronger the economic growth for Liverpool and Everton football clubs the greater the appeal to the area, an area which is in need of some major investment and rejuvination. I beg that this be a matter that is taken up by yourself and that you can find but a few moments to address for the hundreds of thousands of liverpool supporters and voters this issue and support our continual stides to make not only our club but also the basis of our country great as the name says.
I have faith in you Mr Prime Minister and your newly elected cabinet, if the take over and financial situation had been completed by a British national laws would have been broken in the last three years, to borrow money to buy the club and then allow it to desolve seems something that you to can surely not sit back and allow to happen.
Mr Prime Minister I await your response, I only hope that it is supportive and that it is done with a balanced view taken and that you show your strength as a leader of the country as you have portrayed up to and in the short time after the election.
Sometimes grovelling is the way forward, it may be up arse but it may have some effect, you dont know unless you try, come on everyone, lets push the issue to whoever will listen, and those that dont can get pestered even more, we deserve better, we are the mighty red men and together we shall never walk alone!!!!!! (went on a tangent and ended up sounding like bloody braveheart there, sorry folks)
Incidentally i sent this to the number 10 website for perusal
