Not sure where to post this and couldn't find anything related to this.

      Wisdom scores in historic triumph

Liverpool's Andre Wisdom scored at both ends as England beat Spain 2-1 to lift their first ever European U17 Championships on Sunday.

The 17-year-old Academy defender gave the Spaniards a lead with an own goal on 21 minutes.

He soon made amends, however, by heading home a 29th minute leveller.

The winner came through Ipswich Town's promising striker Connor Wickham with 42 minutes on the clock.

Another Liverpool product, 17-year-old midfielder Conor Coady, had the honour of lifting the trophy after captaining the Three Lions throughout the tournament in Liechtenstein.

It is the first men's competition England have won since 1993 when the likes of Robbie Fowler, Paul Scholes and Sol Campbell clinched the European U18 Championships.

Made up for both lads. This win can only boost their confidence at that young tender age.

Didnt realise it had been so long since england won that. It probably deserves a thread of its own but it is in both youth and reserve threads. More promising signs for our youth teams. Hope both players have big futures with us

Excellent news this and what a shame it hasn't had a mention on any news channel tonight.

Really pleased for the lads and hopefully this can inspire them to better things for us.

Great stuff for Conor to lead his country to a massive win like this.

And for Andre to make amends only 8 minutes later is great to see.

      Congrats lads!!

The light at the end of a dark and potentially long tunnel for us. Really hope Rafa stays on long enough for him to see these two and a handful of others develop in the next few seasons for us. With himself Rodolfo and Mc guiding them to greater things

Great stuff for our lads that. I also think that we should give a mention to the fact that this was against a quaity Spain side that has produced some of the greatest footballing talents over the last 10 years. Including Dani Pacheco a couple of seasons back.

He was included but chose to stay home to study for his GCSE exams at school.

What did you expect ? It was Liverpool lads. If it was Utd, Chelsea or the Arse who had a player captaining the side,  and another scoring,  it would be plastered evert where.
