Out of curiosity, how many players from Chavski and Manure are going to the world cup ?

Think Chelsea have 11 but some are out now due to injuries and Man U have 8 with some of those injured now also.  We have the most players at the WC out of the EPL.

But the teams we are trying to compete with are only really the teams who have players going to the World Cup, bar the odd one or two and them players are just going to be getting knocked out in the group stages.

Yeah, that is true. But we have to be realistic, in our current situation we can't compete with the clubs that we'd like to compete with. We're not winning any titles as long as those Yanks remain in power. I want us to do good, but at the same time I don't want to put more money in the yanks' pockets. I don't know

I know we are in a sh*te situation right now, everything included- we have to keep our chins up!

How can having that much international players playing in the WC be a bad situation for a club?

Only Barca , as a club, beat us globally in the number of players going to the World Cup.

Id put the reserves out for the Europa. Whats £600 thousand really worth if you win it? A drop in our cesspit of debt.

Get all the lads back and concentrate on being back in the top four for next May.

last pre-season is the best one in my memories,
bcos they come here in Bangkok that gave me a one best time.
(but for last pre-season overall it's awful one ).

Anyone want to explain to me how we managed to finish 7th if we have that much WC players?

poor tactics, poor team selection, poor substitutions, and lack of motivation from the players in general.

Europa league is a load of cock, would prefer if we played the reserves in it all season and focused on the league. It is likely we will not have a squad to challenge on all fronts like last season so we should put our strongest out in the league. Not finishing 4th is a shambles and we cant let it happen again

It's Fernando Torres who worries me. Joins in 2007/2008, then plays Euro 2008. Then plays 2008/2009, then goes for Confederation Cup. Plays 2009/2010 and is not at the World Cup and hopefully plays 2010/2011 for Liverpool.
