Just saw an interview with Sneijder. He said that he has never done as much strength training in his life as since Rafa arrived. So much even that it was giving him all kinds of physical problems with his back and legs, along with several other players there too. Guess Rafa is doing it EPL style.

Former Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez had been lined up to announce his support for the England 2018 World Cup bid despite the embarrassment it would cause to his native Spain where the FIFA inspectors are visiting next week.

Yet Spain and Portugal’s combined bid will pose stiff competition at the vote in Zurich on December 2.

The England team had planned to reveal Benitez’s backing, probably on the day the inspectors land in Spain, to have maximum effect. But his move to Inter Milan has now diluted the impact of a Benitez statement.

Yet his approval is comparable to that of ex-Dutch star Ronald de Boer. His country are bidding with Belgium to stage the event but De Boer is working for Qatar 2022 as an ambassador.
