I'm just going to agree to disagree with all of that. :P

I'd love to see Babel prove me wrong though, but can't see it happening.

      Same.

Can see him getting another season though. Roy will give it a go to unlock his potential although I'm starting to struggle to see what all this 'potential' is. All he has is a hammer of a right foot shot which isn't good enough for a left winger.

Babel's a conundrum, I see so much potential in him but hes had a fair few chances and not really come through. Ok being the super sub is hard to come off for you esp when lacking confidence.

I just keep thinking hes 23 and basically the fastest player in the prem maybe bar walcott.

Completely agree that on the left its not working but if he gets a good shot this year (which i think he will) Roy may finally get a killer edge out of him. It is basically make or break for him in a red shirt this season.

Still think bring him on at 60 mins and would open up defences on counter, even if he's lacking in confidence and dribbles to the byline and cuts back for El Nino to tap in  - would love it ;)

Dont really want him to leave as stated before i dont think we'd get the best deal for him and as the takeovers not complete I cant see the funds going back to Woy - whats happened the the cash from Benayoun & Riera and we were meant to have 15mill at the start of summer? so far i count like 10-15 in and 5 out - 20-25 mill missing.(sorry last bit off topic)

Totally agree,Babel should be given a chance on the right wing,he has plenty of pace and is not afraid to run at defenders. But dint think he is in Roy's plans :f_steam:

I love how Lucas, Insua and Ngog put in shifts and showed skill and talent in over half the games they play but Babel has done sh*t all and he's being given chances to reclaim some faith in him while the others are hung out to dry.

He's done absolutely nothing in his time here other than a wonder strike a season since his first season in which he was decent. If we can get 9m, take it Roy.

Stick to what I've always said about Ryan, if we're going to offload him, best sell to an overseas club. Don't want the chance of him coming back to haunt us for a rival Premier League club. 9million, I'd take that.

Just saw the team news for tonight's game against Trabz....

      http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/latest-news/poulsen-starts-watch-live

Cole, Maxi, Jovanovic, and Babel are our front 4.... I wonder if Babel will be featuring as the main striker, or if Roy will put Jova there.  Either way, this should be a good time for Roy to really decide whether Babel is part of his plans or not.

      Duo battle for Babel
Spurs & West Ham target Reds man

      Last updated: 31st August 2010

Skysports.com understands Tottenham and West Ham have last-ditch moves for Liverpool's Ryan Babel.

It is believed the London duo have contacted Liverpool to ask about Babel's availability.

Liverpool are thought to be willing to let Babel move on for the right fee as Roy Hodgson looks to reshape his squad.

West Ham have held a long-term interest in Babel and he has been mentioned in a possible swap deal with Carlton Cole.

Tottenham are thought to have turned their attentions to Babel after missing out on a number of other top targets.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to bolster his attacking options before the transfer window slams shut on Tuesday and he is thought to be an admirer of Babel.

Babel's long-term future at Liverpool has been the subject of speculation for some time with the Dutchman struggling to hold down a regular place in the starting XI.

Any move could depend on whether Liverpool can bring in a replacement for Babel before the close of the window.

On his way to West Ham, probably part of the C.Cole deal.
