My money on NETHERLAND to lift the cup. They r strong, no spotlight, no pressure.

SPAIN - favorite, the pressure will get them. Like to see them win thru, Torres & co.
ENGLAND - don't think they r good enough to lift the cup. They r good but not enough.
BRAZIL - Maybe, they r always there.
ARGENTINA - Another maybe, the dark horses.
GERMANY - Possibility, discipline & work hard.
Champion should come from above team.


The rest, don't think they stand a chance.

I can actually understand that though Reslivo. Germany almost never have the best players, but they're always a team with the right workrate and spirit, they're proper tournament fighters. When you look at the last 7 World Cups for instance, Germany ended up 5 times with the last 4. Guess how many times England ended up in the last 4 during those? England often have great players, but they haven't lived up to their potential as a team in recent years. I do personally rate you among favourites though.

On a serious note, i think Spain and Holland.
Spain has got a great squad, but in the end it depends on how every team plays.

Ballack was their most influential player in 2002 and 2006 too, and they finished these WCs with silver and bronze medals respectively. 3 of the countries you mentioned (Argentina, Spain and England) had better squads and bigger names but didnt go as far. Argentina, for example, went out in group stage in 2002, and in 2006 many people saw them as favourites after that 6-0 win vs Serbia in the group stage, but they ended being knocked out by... Germany, who, btw, only 2 years ago were Euro finalists.

I agree Germany dont look that good but I'm with Dexter, I wouldn't write them off so soon. That's a lesson I take from history (One of my favourite football games of all time is the so called Miracle of Bern - the WC 54 final)

I don't see Germany as favourites, but they're still solid in every position, no weak position. And some very talented young players in Boateng, Ozil, Kroos, and Marin. They might not have many big star players, but they always have teamspirit and the right workrate and mentality. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they do well.

I'll wager £1M it won't be France v Uruguay.

At a guess I'll go Spain v Argentina.

I would probably want to kill myself if we lose, but I'd rather see this final happen (with Brazil winning of course) in 2014
