Surprised there wasn't already a thread made!

Absolutely can't wait for this. Should be quality.

It'd be great to see the Netherlands progress, but I just feel that Brazil may have too much for them.

What do you say in Dutch mate to jeer on the team?

For example, 'come on England!', 'Forza Italia!' etc?

Unfortunately Ramires is suspended cause of a 2nd yellow card that he received when we were already beating Chile by 3-0, pretty stupid foul.

Elano could be out of the competition cause of the tackle he received vs Ivory Coast, so I think it's gonna be Daniel Alves instead of Ramires there.

I'm so f***in nervous. The games vs Netherlands in 94 and 98 are some of the best football matches I ever seen. Great memories. Hopefully I'll add today to this list too. But I could hardly sleep last night, I'm that nervous.

I really do love Brazil's way of playing. Quick pass and move football. Really free-flowing too. You don't see the front players sticking to a certain position.

The Dutch a little too predictable at the moment.

Maicon makes me laugh when he pulls his 'frustrated face' at the ref. Superb player though.

Robben needs to stop hesitating. He's looking out of his depth on the wrong side, but Kuyt covering the left is a good tactic. Robben wouldn't be able to do that.

Dexter must be smiling from ear to ear

I thought Brazil played well in the first half with a great defence splitting pass by Melo.

I think since the Netherlands equaliser went in, they got better as the game went on and eventually got a second. Brazil, couldn't handle being behind, got frustrated and some players lost their heads.

Glad Kuyt played a part in the second goal and even had a nice run which could have been a goal!

Anyways, well done Netherlands. I would believe it's a deserved win.

Enjoyed the game, nice one the Netherlands, knocked me out of the sweep though, nevermind. Don't those Brazilians get rattled if things don't go their way?

Yeah, some seemed to lost their heads. Probably couldn't handle going behind. Let's see Diego's take on this :P

Saddest day of the year for me.

Brazil completely lost their head in the second half. Holland played better and deserved the win. Congratulations, Orange.

I hope that now players like Kleberson, Gilberto, Felipe Melo and JosuĂ© never get a chance with the SeleĂ§Ă£o again.

2014 will happen here in Brazil and I simply can't wait. :P

Dutch were simply superb in the second half.
Full credit to Robben. He was awesome.

As awesome as Robben can be. He's a diving tw*t. Rolling around acting like he just took a bullet all the time.

I'm sorry but Holland didn't play better. Yes, Brazil lost their head in the 2nd half after that equalizer, but still, Holland only created 3 chances the whole game. Two in set pieces (one of the them an own goal) and the other when it was already 2-1 and Brazil was all attack.

Felipe Melo should be beaten to death. It was so obvious that such thing could happen that Dunga cant say he wasnt warned. Every single people in the country were scared of the prospect of Felipe being sent off in an important match. That's exactly what happened. I just hope he dies. Slowly. Painfully. After a great first half and a brilliant pass in the 1st half, an own goal and a sending off. Pathetic.

It's the worst defeat ever in the history of the galaxy cause we were actually playing very well in the 1st half. I like this Brazilian team, much more than the team in 2006. We were full of big egos then but couldnt play as a team. We only reached the 2006 QF cause of our individual talents. This time, no. It wasnt the most talented Brazilian squad ever, but it's just stupid to think Brazil will always have the likes of Rivelino, Pele, Gerson and TostĂ£o. We were paying good football as a team and scoring brilliant goals so far.

Then to lose a game we were winning, in 2 crappy goals like that, really really hurts. I would rather have lost to better Dutch teams in 94 or 98. It'll also be odd to see all the Brazilian haters so happy with the win of a Dutch team who dived, wasted time and used all of these tactics of the 'dirty' South Americans.

Anyway, well done to Holland, maybe that could be their year, they're not playing entertaining football but they were efficient. I just don't buy that 'played better' sh*t, cause they didn't. They were lucky and Brazil were too temperamental. We showed much more football and could have scored more in the 1st half.

I'm crazy about World Cups and I'll certainly watch the remaining matches. But it feels so wrong with Brazil going out so early.

I'm part of a lucky generation used to much more. The first WC I ever watched was 1994, I was only 6 or 7 back then, and we were the champions. Even so young, I remember every single game so clearly. Then 1998. A terrible defeat in the final but some amazing games on the way. 2002, another final, another trophy.

Going out in the QF twice in a row feels like the end of the world. Honestly.

No? Not when Bastos slid in, completely missed him then they ask for his second yellow? No, not when he goes down on the corner flag when no one touched him?

I can remember numerous times he went down without ever being touched, and then continued to roll around like a c**t.

That's Robbens game. He's good at it, but I don't respect it.

But then again, he also wouldn't of played the pass that led to Brazil scoring their goal!! ;)

I'm very happy! I'll start with that. I'm also completely wasted  I've had one of the best nights of my life. Ok, so on to the game, my thoughts.

First half, from our side, completely shiiiite. I crapped my pants when I found out Ooijer started for us. But Brazil completely dominated us the first half. Class goal, but at the same time big mistake by Heitinga. I thought we were done to be honest.

2nd half, lucky goal by Sneijder, but quite a mistake by both Melo And Cesar. After that, Brazil seemed to have lost the plot. I thought we were stronger the 2nd half, Brazil just seemed to be panicking, especially after Melo's red card. That was just stupid of him really. Then our 2nd goal, Sneijder's first EVER header. After that the last 20 minutes took way too long for me! Felt so good winning though, especially after '94 and '98. F***ing great!

I've partied with complete strangers tonight, and I loved it! My country went aboslutely crazy tonight! This really will be remembered as an amaing night for my country, on to Uruguay tuesday!

The first half was Brazil's alright. Great goal by Robinho. Somehow Felipe Melo turned to zero with an own goal and a sending off after a great ball for the goal.

Netherlands probably didn't create many chances to show their superiority but they definitely looked more like they were going for the win, especially after the equaliser.

Sorry about the knocking out, Diego. Never nice to see your nation get knocked out and well done, Dexter. I wouldn't want to say I'm jumping to conclusion, but I have a feeling that Netherlands will go all the way to the final.

So Dexter what's the deal with Kuyt playing on the left
Well, Robben plays on the right because that's where he played this season at Bayern, his form is too good there to put him on the left. Van Marwijk is a big fan of Kuyt, and to be fair, he's done great on the left in the past 2 games. If Elia would play on the left and Robben on the right we'd no doubt play more creative attacking football, however, we'd also be weakened defensively. Van Bronckhorst has looked much better too since Kuyt is played in front of him. Van Bronckhorst is retiring after this World Cup, he isn't on the top of his game anymore, let's face it.

Kuyt adds something in the dutch team that we lack, physical strenght, workrate, endurance. We already have enough creativity, at least that's certainly what Van Marwijk thinks. When not in possession Kuyt always helps to defend, tracking back as far as he has to. But when in possession and in a counter he'll be one of the first on the opposition's half too, even if that means he'll have to take a long sprint to the other side of the field, and then back again too if needed, and he never stops doing that. He might not be very productive as an attacker, but he always poses danger, pulling defenders away, creating space for others, and he's always there for the rebound. I might not always agree with Van Marwijk's decisions, but I do understand them in this case.

Thanks for clearing that up. Had a feeling it was because Robben was on the right, but didnt know enough about the squad to instantly have him infront of Elia on the left. Once again the Oracle has spoken
