      Miroslav Klose

Top scorers of the World Cup:

      Ronaldo (Brazil) - 15
      Gerd Muller (Germany) - 14
      Miroslav Klose (Germany) - 14
      Just Fontaine (France) - 13

What do you guys think? Will Klose score at least 1 or 2 goals to become the highest goalscorer in the history of the World Cups?

He's a player I've always admired. He's not even close (Klose :f_tongueincheek:) to the talent of someone like Ronaldo, but he's a fantastic goalscorer and always take his opportunities very well. This year he's clearly past his best but it's amazing his game intelligence and positioning, always in the right place to score... his experience has been very useful to this young German side.

I'd hate to see a Brazilian losing that record but in all honesty I could say I used to like Ronaldo a bit more than I do now :P So I wouldn't mind him beating it to be honest.

Glad Ronaldo held onto it! Sounds much better if one of the greatest strikers in history has the record, rather than some plank who can't be bothered with club football!

He's been prolific in World Cups, but if this was his last one, he's missed the record.

Glad anyway, as Ronaldo was one of my all time favourite players and i don't really like Klose.

You guys are forgettins there's a Third Place decision to be played, he still has the chance to get the record.

So are the Germans' priority to secure 3rd place or to help him get the record? The objectives are in line, but which is more important? Ideally, if he scores to secure 3rd place, then there is no conflict.

Well considering his goalscoring record at the clubs he's been at, I'd say that Ronaldo could very much be bothered with it.

Dont reckon he'll break it against Uraguay. But he still might be in 2014 WC as a bench warmer so who knows he could still get the chance.
