Unless we play some crafty mind games and we brief the press he is only fit for the squad, then the bench, then come Sunday at 3:15 team sheet says Torres. BOOM, 3-0.

Biggest match of the year for me , "My Beloved Arsenal" v my second favourite team "The Mighty Redmen" . I'll be goin to my Scouse mate Jed's place to watch this game and i'll be the only Gooner amongst at least 8 born and bred Liverpudlians .
I'll rock up lookin resplendant in my Clichy shirt and my red and white stripe Arsenal scarf , the lads will put sh*t on me for 10 minutes before we all settle down in front of the telly with beers in hand . The banter will flow as freely as the beers and one of us will come out victorious (unless of course Anfield can produce another 4 - 4 draw)
In the extremely unlikely event that Liverpool win i'll just say "hey i love the Redmen too" and depending on how drunk we all get i will be made to wear Jed's daughters very tight Mrs. Steven Gerrard t-shirt , photographic evidence may even be taken .
Anyhow .... i can't wait for this game .

I'd certainly prefer to play a weaker team in the opening day but if we win, it will feel even better and surely would be a big boost of confidence for this "new" Liverpool under Roy.

Exact same line up I would choose mate.. at Anfield with all these fit(hopefully Nando will be fit) I can't see the Arse overturning that side with their young team!

With the players we currently have ( assuming Mascherano leaves ) I think that is our best 11. Arsenal, even without cesc and RVP will still be a dangerous side. I expect however fabregas to be involved!

Maybe too early for Poulsen as Serie A isn't due to kick off for another fortnight & his pre-season work could be a couple of weeks behind.  Still a question mark over Torres' fitness as well.

Would love to see Torres feature in some way, if not from the start, via sub. However, I don't think he will be fit. God, how much do we need another striker.....
