Stop Buying Into The Yanks' PR machine
      Aug 04, 2010 05:00:53 pm
I've been reading the transfer/takeover merry go round thread and i'm suprised at the amount of sensible Liverpool fans who are convinced that we are going to be miraculously rescued by a Billionaire in the next month and that he is going to do what's right for LFC.

At the end off the day H&G are just going to sell to the highest biddder and all this news has been leaked from Purslow's PR machine so their going to put a positive PR spin whatever news we hear.

We should be cautious about whatever news we hear unlike last time !

Purslow seems to be honest, he said a while ago there where no offers when he should have said we had loads... Quite frankly if there are offers coming in acording to him then I'm inclined to beleive it.

Of course- i know better than to believe everything i read, but this is the most we have heard since our club was put up for sale.

We have no reason not to believe Broughton when he says new owners will be in place by the end of the month- just because he works for dickheads doesnt mean he is one.

I don't think you can dismiss five or six bids as a PR exercise, I'm sorry you just can't...everything coming out in the media at the moment RBS will be privvy to and so much more as will Bar Cap, the sale of the club is under way that much is Fact.

We don't know who is going to get it, but it's definitely going to be sold, so whilst I have every faith in it being sold, I'll remain reserved about our potential owners until we know exactly who they are.

I don't care who owns us the key here is to be owned by someone or investors who won't use banks money to finance us and ladled us with debt. If that happens at least every season we can use the money that is generated from supporters putting there hands in there pockets, towards a couple of quality players.

As for the stadium, if we need to borrow money for that, that also sit comfortably with me as its bricks and mortar, and its just like getting a mortgage, even if its a massive one.

Now I would love it if we do get bought buy someone who can splash the cash, but being debt free is the true key to our future. And from what I've read from the Prem league the new fit and proper test ensures people have got the money.

I have to agree with the cautious thinking here. The last thing we're wanting is another 3 years of signing no-one with our own money, being lied to and letting the media sh*t all over us. Let's just hope that Hicks and Gillett have SOME descency and put us under good hands.

:lmao: I know I'm one of the only ones who think that, but tbh I'd rather have him running things in terms of the sales than the bloody yanks. He was brought in to sell the club, he looks like he's about to do that so as far as I'm concerned he's doing well... Or am I missing something :S

Yup, Broughton is one who's bought in to sell the club, not Purslow.

How about stop believing everyone PR machine?

Treat what you read with a hint of scepticism. A good 95% of what we all read over the last couple of days was the press eating it's self. Journo A gets the hint of a story and publishes it. Journo B copies it and adds his spin. Journo A sees Journo B's story and sees it as confirmation of what he said, he takes what B added and adds his own bit to it. Next thing you know we are being bought by little green men who have all the gold in the world and someone saw Messi carrying Kakas bags at John Lennon.

Also just because you read it in Wiki or the net in general doesn't make it true.

CIC (Chinese Govt.) have denied links with Kenny and denied that they are interested in the club. So MiciG91 might be right, Purslime may well be leeking stories in order to raise the price of the club to increase profits for the cowboys.

CIC are indirectly involved with Huang, so says an ITK from RAWK.

Kenny is being touted around by a professional PR company who are not part of the G+H PR machine. I think they are pretty serious.

"I need to update this as that PR Company has now pulled out. This deal looks doggy as you like and perhaps a PR Stunt."
