I presume it's not THE Arthur Lowe from Dad's Army - aka Captain Mainwaring?

Monster of Florence - Mario Spezi & Douglas Preston

Investigation into the infamous Italian serial killer - shameful how incompetent and corrupt the police were. Made me really feel for the family of Meredith Kercher - the politics of the Italian justice system is truly shocking.

Has anyone read the dark tower series?

      Worth getting into?

I read them all over a 2 year period a few years ago mate. If you like Steven King and you like fantasy (pretty much sums me up as a reader) the you will enjoy the series. He did write them over 20 odd years and the plot is a bit disjoiinted in places (ie. things he starts to develop and then thinks actually lets not bother with that) however, his development of the characters is (as always) very good and I really enjoyed it. A couple of the books are superb although i'm afraid i can't recall which ones! Worth a read so long as you don't mind a long slog as there are 7 of the buggers!

If anyone is stuck on what to read at the moment go an buy a few " Jack Reacher" books. Doesnt matter what ones and you can pick them up off Amazon for about £3! Read a few over summer and I have to say they are absolutely brilliant!

I am currently reading Rushies Autobiography for a 2nd time.

Just finished this and I'm gutted to be honest as I didn't want it to end.

      Best Autobiography I've read.

Just bought Steven Gerrard's My Liverpool Story ...

It's almost double the price here as it is in the UK but I don't have a choice.

Either get it for RM 88 (around 17/18 pounds) now or tell a friend to get it for 10 pounds and wait till June when a friend comes back.

I had it in my hand in the shop but didn't bother buying it. Basically a picture book which didn't tickle my fancy.

If Cheryl Cole's new book was a picture book though......

If he was barebacking Cheryl Cole...

And at that club I believe it's allowed and even in the contracts

I actually saw a Cheryl Cole biography going off for about 4 pounds or something whenever I went to HMV but I very much prefer auto biographies.

WAHS could never re sell his copy.... Wouldn't fetch £4... It's essentially a paperweight now, pages can't be prized open for love nor money..

Been picking these up in charity shops even cheaper... on an aside though

      Jack Reacher

      Height: 6ft 5in
      Weight: 220-250lbs
      Chest: 50in
      Inside Leg: 95cm
      Wears a 3XLT coat

Given all this, who gets the lead in the Jack Reacher film (based on the One Shot novel)?

      Tom 'Midget' Cruise.

I can only think he was up against Warwick Davis and Verne Troyer for the role. :D

Are you calling me a w**ker?

Just picked it up for a cheeky tenner at WH Smiths. For the girlfriend like, I'll bind it for her once she's read it.

90 Minutes At Entebee By William Stevenson : excellent, great insight to the role Idi Amin siding with the terroriosts, while trying to make out by lying to the Israelis etc... that he was trying to help the hostages

Going to get this as well.

Loved Rob Jones and like you PD he could have been one of our very best if injuries didn't take their toll.

      Quality player.

Just picked up the last of the Game of Thrones (so far) series today. Absolutely love this series. Only started it 9 months ago and haven't read anything else inbetween.

Haven't read it yet, but I've just got the first every Star Trek Novel - Spock Must Die! I'm not expecting it to be great, but I bet I'll enjoy it anyway.
