      Protest Songs
      Aug 28, 2010 09:31:04 am
Anyone got ideas for protest songs. Something catchy that might get in the fans psychy and highlight to those unaware of it, what our plight is

      Here's my effort.
To the tune of Pearl Jams Jeremy
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OhM6lp_6Q4

      At home
      Drawing pictures
      Of the league table
      Its red on top
      Liverpool FC
      Outraged at the truth
Dare I say that we are not

      Moores didn't pay attention
To the fact their selling the silverware
      Owned by the wicked
      Ruining our world

      You’ll never walk alone
      You’ll never walk alone

      Clearly I remember
      Teams we would destroy
Seemed no harm could be done
      But Moores unleashed a virus
      Gripped us deep
And put fans to the test

      How could I forget
They hit us with surprise dept
      Our club left hurtin
      Stopped from winning
      Now every day
      Another player sold

      The banks didn't give attention
And were heading somewhere we should fear
      We need new owners
      To rule this club

      You’ll never walk alone
      You’ll never walk alone

      Try to change this...
      Try to erase this...
      Current club board

      Only the debt

      Not catchy but truth

Bob Marley's discography doesn't include too many that would suit a protest.

But I do like the one that goes:
      Get out of our club,
      Get out of our club,
      You lying bas**rds,
      Get out of our club.

Right so. How about people structure a song from start to finish using songs that already exist. If theyre quality Ill give them a +.

We don't need no Yankee owners
We don't need their f**king lies.
No interest payments in the boardroom
      Yankees leave them Reds alone
Hey! Yankees! Leave them Reds alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

We don't need no Yankee owners
We don't need no f**king loans
Stanley Park has no new stadium
      Yankees leave them Reds alone
Hey! Yankees! Leave them kids alone!
All in all it's just another brick in the wall.
All in all you're just another brick in the wall

      "Wrong, Do it again!"
"If you don't scores your goals, you can't have any pudding. How can you
have any pudding if you don't scores your goals?"
"You! Yes, you behind the Mainstand, you're sold laddy!"

It has been ages since I listened to Jeremy, I forgot the tune outside the chorus.
Listening to it now, reading these lyrics with it.  That is top class mate.
