I doubt we could get him for just £12M, but if we did, I'd be a very happy man.

Exciting young prospect is Fernando Llorente Torres.  One Fernando Torres is excellent, two, my word.

But I think Cole dealing IS going through.

PS Caught Offside just make up stuff or pick rumours from other sites.

Yeah me too sadly, would be a much better acquisition but I've got a worrying feeling the Cole deal seems a lot more likely.

He's a year younger and two inches taller than Cole, also looked on his Wikipedia page and found this.

"He is also known as the Lion King or Fernando 2.0."

Think he'd be just what we need to add another dimension upfront, would be terrific for hold up play in a 4-4-2 formation with Torres, having a player his size could be very beneficial in the difficult games, which is just what Zamora offers Fulham, he basically ties the whole team together, although Bilbao surely wouldn't part with him cheaply and It's not the best source as It's been said.

Just saw his wiki page and the nickname "Fernando 2.0". Scared to get excited by this rumour as I have an awful feeling too that C Cole is on his way.

@JimBoardman I mentioned earlier about Llorente. Have a friend in Spain saying it's all but done. Would be a good addition. A handful.

Jim Boardman doesn't retweet rubbish, but of course it's still speculation...

Rumour: Llorente – Insua swap deal
      Article added: August 30th, 2010

TIA Home » LFC News » Transfer Speculation » Rumour: Llorente – Insua swap deal

"Reports in Spain this evening suggest Liverpool have agreed a deal to bring Spanish striker Fernando LLorente to Anfield, with full back Emiliano Insua going in the opposite direction.

Reds boss Roy Hodgson this weekend completed the signature of midfielder Raul Meireles and left back Paul Konchesky should be completed on Monday, leaving a new forward as the manager’s priority.

Speaking after Sunday’s 1-0 win over West Brom, Hodgson said “We’ve got space to add a player. We’d like another striker, we’ve said that all along and there’s no point me denying it. But we still haven’t found the right man and time is running out for us.”

Llorente, 25, was part of Spain’s World Cup winning squad this summer and has been at Atletico Bilboa since age 11. Standing at 6ft 4, the forward has been dubbed the ‘Spanish Peter Crouch’ and would add another dimension to Liverpool’s attack, where options are currently limited.

Reports suggest the deal is worth €11m (£9m), with Insua heading to the Basque club as part of the deal.

Insua though has thus far failed to agree personal terms with the two previous clubs Liverpool have accepted bids for the Argentinian from, and has since been frozen out of the side and has no squad number.

Llorente scored an impressive 21 goals for Bilboa last season. He would team up with Spanish team mates Pepe Reina and Fernando Torres at Anfield."

Jesus Christ, it has to be the worst piece of 'journalism' EVER.

Emiliano Insua going to ATHLETIC BILBAO?!?!?!

Bilbao only sign BASQUE players, Insua is Argentine... unless he comes from a Basque family, which I really doubt.

A fine example as to why my passion to be a journalist waned. There is just no room for professionalism anymore, just two-bit journalists who don't mind getting paid to write sh*t - and are often actually told to write it.

Not sure about this myself. My bones tell me it's C Cole.

If the Llorente rumour is false, it needs to be stamped out quick - to get excited about Llorente only to get C Cole would be cruelty  :f_wah: :f_wah: :f_wah:

"Insúa is a European Union citizen due to one of his grandparents being a Spanish citizen. He is 1/6 Basque.[2]" Says Wikipedia.

No idea if it's true tough, the source is obviously unreliable
