I would suggest sticking to what we usually play...
4 across the back
2 central midfielders- preferably Raul and Gerrard
2 wingers in Maxi and Jovanovic
Joe Cole behind Torres

my changes would have us with 5-4-1 essentially

with Johnson and Konchesky backing the 3 at the back up,  and Cole and Gerrard supporting the midfield.

I agree with glynn, playing a new formation and no holding player away to united is akin to labour's manifesto in '83.  I'd go for Johnson over Maxi though.

Shabs, no Carra mate??? I'd prefer Carra to Skrtel. Skrtel isn't giving me much confidence these days.

i agree tbh. u need carra, i know he's getting slow and he thumps the ball forward a lot, but he organises the defense very well and he's a leader. i prefer agger to skrtl, he's quicker and i like the way he brings the ball out. he's more composed on the ball.

After seeing Torres rake his studs down the Birmingham centre backs leg last sunday, anyone think he was practicing for this game.  He owes Vidic a few of those, a couple of heel clips should be in order too.  Wonder if you can bet on who'll stud who first.
