After seeing Torres rake his studs down the Birmingham centre backs leg last sunday, anyone think he was practicing for this game.  He owes Vidic a few of those, a couple of heel clips should be in order too.  Wonder if you can bet on who'll stud who first.

He owes Vidic nothing other than yet another ritual humiliation.  A hat-trick will do nicely.

      From United I would expect

                            VDS

      Neville      Vidic       Ferdinand      Evra

      Park        Scholes    Fletcher        Nani/Giggs
                     Owen        Rooney

I would have thought Berbatov would start in place of Owen if they play 4-4-2, he's the man on form of course and scored a good goal against Everton.

Think we have to be wary of the likes of Scholes and Fletcher as they can both pick a pass, hopefully we drop Stevie back to get a better hold of the midfield alongside Lucas (but most likely Poulsen), Meireles is capable of performing some defensive duty also, so I'd hope to see those 3 in midfield and maybe give Cole a go on the wing for this one.

We have to be aware of Nani I think also, he's had a sharp start to the season so as always we need our wingers to track back and close down effectively which means It's a pity we don't have Dirk.

Nah, he will just down a couple of goals as he soars past Vidic like he has done so many times in the past. ;)

5th game of the season for us and we're facing our biggest rivals. Rio Ferdinand saying they'll finish us off to make up for points they have dropped. Let's not allow that to happen.

                                         Reina

      Kelly/Johnson            Carragher              Agger               Konchesky

      Johnson/Rodriguez      Meireles         Gerrard/Lucas          Rodriguez/Cole

                                         Cole/Gerrard

                                       Torres

Not sure if it's too much of a risk to play that team so the names in blue is the one alternative. We have to go to Old Trafford with the intention of winning, and not, not to lose. The last time we won at Old Trafford was 4-1 and so happen we also scored four goals in the European match before it.

When did Owen last start a game for United? There is no way he will start. I think O'Shea will play at fight back aswell.

                             VDS

      O'Shea   Vidic/Ferdinand/Evans    Evra

       Nani      Scholes    Fletcher      Giggs

                  Berbatov    Rooney

In attack though, it'll be like:

                        Fletcher

                Scholes       Giggs

           <------->  Nani <------->

I'd be surprised if he didn't play Park.  He normally uses him against us and the other top teams.  It'll be one of Giggs/Nani

Do we play the 'second XI' who can score 4 goals?

Or the 'big names' who can't muster up four shots?

      Hmm.

Sweepstake for Vidic's inevitable sending off? I'll go ahead and guess first. 83 minutes, second bookable offence, not a straight red (No manc ever gets a straight red at Old Trafford).

88 minutes, 2nd yellow card, 8th bookable offence.

Saw end of first half and the second half against Bucharest and thought we did quite well. Scoreline might have been a bit flattering but won't complain. Thought Cole and Meireles did enough to get a start on Sun. Ngog took his goals well and nice to see Lucas knock in a screamer :) Great to see Pachedo and Eccleston get a run out, hope Roy gives them even more time in the Europa so we can see what they can do. Unfortunately thought Babel was poor, and at what stage do you have to call time on him.
Sunday will be a step up though. Utd should've ran out easy winners against Everton last week, saw some of the game on Sky. Hope brandynose plays Rooney, don't think he's in the right frame of mind, or in the best of form. And he can be given absolute dogs abuse. Time for Nando and SG to deliver. Cole and Meireles with certainly be helping them going forward. Absolutely dyin for this one :) We're due a big performance!

      Reina
      Johnson Carra Skyrtel Konch
      Meireles Poulsen
      Cole Gerrard Maxi
      Torres

Toss up between Lucas and Poulsen, and I'd have Maxi instead of Jova.

      Firstly, no Lucas-Poulsen partnership.

                                      Reina

      Johnson        Carragher           Agger               Konchesky

      Maxi            Meireles           Gerrard                Jovanovic

                                      Cole

                                     Torres

Not sure if Joe Cole would agree but you can also play him on the right. Have Gerrard in the hole and Meireles partnering EITHER Lucas OR Poulsen.
i agree with the suppose squard, but i do not agree that cole should play from the right.

      Welcome to the forum, ovs.

Yeah, I agree with you. I'd prefer Joe Cole to play behind Torres. He has looked really good there in the European games. Imagine what he'd be able to do with Gerrard behind him and Torres in front of him.

Am I wrong to suggest Johnson plays right midfield with Kelly behind him?

And Cole plays left mid with Pacheco in the hole?

The sensible business head of mine says this game will be an ultra defensive draw, and a bore of a match.

The Kopite however comes out and im going for a 2-0 win.  Its time to prove the Manure are not the force they were 5 years ago.  Old players, old tactics, poor transfers.  United are fast living with memories and churning out the same crap week in week out.  They have the squad yes.  But we have, on paper, the greater starting 11.

i think you might be wrong, because the game against manu should not be use as an experiment, as it might cost us the game.
