      You're being harsh on Johnson.

First of all, Darren Bent is a good premier league goalscorer, IMO. I've even suggested him as a player I'd love to have back up to Torres. Secondly, the cross did come from the other side. Why didn't the left side of our team do better to prevent the cross?

Johnson is much better going forward than he is at defending but probably not in today's game. I think he overall did better than previously defensively but he was pretty hesistant in attack today.

Cole and Meireles played alright, not amazing, but showed some promise going forward.  Gerrard was alright and scored a goal.
Johnson was poor defending and did nothing going forward either.

Now I'm laughing at you mate Gerrard and Meireles showed some promise "going forward"

Well thats exactly how I'd describe Johnsons contribution he showed some promise but not everything worked out for him, seriously fella jump off the bandwagon your flogging a dead horse "Scape Goat"

I thought Kuyt barring his goal was a lot worse than Johnson today he seemed incapable of passing the ball to a red shirt.

Cannot believe what is happening ! last season we would have been over the moon to finish top 4 ,this season we are looking at mid - table ! sorry for sounding stupid but i'd be putting Shelvey on with Meireles,I know he's young but what's the alternative?......Poulsen ,personally I want to see us attack and commit defenders and the way the squad is organised we don't  do we? at this moment in time i'd be well happy with 7th place this season .

agree he was dire, almost as bad as Maxi - I excused him as it was his first game back from injury.

Agger missed two glorious chances to win the game.

      That's the difference.

Scapegoat mate and you know it.

What about all the passes that were misplaced that gifted Sunderland the ball back and allowed them to boss us at Anfield in front of our home fans ?

Your looking for fingers to point that would be the best place to start, don't you think ?

when has he ever looked good going forward for us? :(

He did win us the penalty against Spurs last season after a crazy run into the box when we needed a goal. He did score goals against Bolton and Sunderland last season. Also did for England. He definitely isn't the best right back in the League but is not as bad as people make him out to be.

And for this reason, I actually would love to see him being played on the right wing and Martin Kelly in defence.

Gerrard, Cole, Torres, Kuyt and Meireles also lost the ball countless of times, rather easily but I guess it's also fair to say that if they don't try a killer pass, nothing would happen.

I think the only player who stood out for me is Martin Skrtel.

Im a fan of Johnson, but il admit he didn't have his best game today.
But by no way was he the worst player on the pitch, think anyone that doesn't see Poulsen as anything but a liability needs their head screwing back on. We were poor apart from 10 minutes of the first half and 15 minutes before the end of the game. Theres no creativity, theres no confidence and on top of that it just seems theres little to no desire.

when has he ever looked good going forward for us? :(
Im sorry but was that regarding Johnson?

Il admit he didn't have his best attacking game today, but hes basically one of our only players who attacks oposition defences. To throw out  "When has Johnson ever looked good going forward" is a pretty ridiculous comment in my mind.

Like Crouch said, Aggers miss at the end of the game was the difference.
But simply put, we just wern't good enough again.

Clearly you are as your avoiding what was our biggest downfall in getting three points today to have a go at the rightback.

Now I'm not even a huge admirer of Johnson so I have no agenda for what I'm saying, can you say the same ?

Oh and last post tonight before I head to bed.

I thought Torres looked much better today than in previous games. I mean, he still looked like that confused kid on the pitch for parts of the game but his well taken goal, awareness to the Michael Turner pass and his speed and cross for the second goal was just like the old Torres!

He clearly just needs to see more action in matches and not just game time. There's no point putting him for 90 minutes and he's only getting the ball a total of 20 minutes.

If Roy doesn't change his strategy and be brave to leave Poulsen out of the starting XI, we will struggle to get results we want and there's a high chance we won't have this Liverpool's number 9 next season.

Is it me or did any one feel that we looked good as Paulson was taken off?

That's exactly right and I have been saying that numerous times, in various posts. Imagine what it would have been like if we started the match with the team after Poulsen was taken off ...
