Even City had a quiet January window. They sold Torres and replaced him with Julian Alvarez who admittedly i am not familiar with but probably one more for the future than this season.

He's staying with River Plate til end of season, although they've asked can he stay until und of calender year.

I'm not expecting to see loads of Diaz this season.

Diaz will get a lot of playing time - he isnā€™t one to be sitting on the bench. Wouldnā€™t surprise me to see him get minutes on Sunday

Maybe but for majority of this season barring injuries our front 3 will be Mane, Jota, Salah.

Thatā€™s a great table that shows how well run the club is

As Klopp said - buying the right player at the right time.

Itā€™s a shame that some hold these tables in such high esteem though

Not sure how accurate this can be, Real Madrid donā€™t even appear?

Donā€™t exactly follow their transfer business but would be very surprised if they arenā€™t one of the top spenders.

Lots of money spent and 10 times that increase in the valuation of the club all primed for our wonderful thoughtful men of the people owners.
c.ub valued in excess of Ā£3.5 billion nice rainy day money for the poor Billionaires. But ignore the values it means nothing.

      Itā€™s mental

We have spent over Ā£1bn on players yet how many complaints are there about spending money etc

It shows how well run the club is and Iā€™ll take the way they run the club over any other team in the Prem

I dont like getting into the owners chat too much.

But I do agree with your socialist principals but on the other hand the owners are sports business men, who are obviously in it to make money, I have no problem with that, so long as the club is run properly and apart from the odd mistake, generally they have done ok.

A lot of folk have said we could do much worse.

Financially the club is run quite well, and generally lives within its means. From my limited knowledge of finances that seems ok to me.

Even back in Shanks period we were privately owned but the way the sport is is massively different to how it was back then - the level of money is huge , itā€™s a different sport off the field

Itā€™s very hard to remember when any club was anywhere near socialist views

My local club motherwell still have socialist views with lots of community work, and were fan owned. But as you say I cant see how that works with the global elite football clubs.

But I know from the stuff I watch on youtube and via the LFC TV that LFC do lots of community work, which is socialist views. Although Im not sure how much of that is driven by the owners.

Considering the owners from the outset, of the creation of LFC down at the Sandon, they were all in it to make Money.

With massive unregulated crowds paying at the turnstiles, with very little money spent on the grounds, and players and staff wages kept to lower working class levels.
Please donā€™t try and tell me there was any connection to socialism.
Not even in Shanks day. He spoke about his ideology but nothing was implemented was it. It was still all about profit, and thatā€™s how it will always be.

Granted businesses and business owners need to make money. But they should not become a greedy sh*te trying to make everything off everyone and squeezing everybody dry. It does not have to be that way. They should respect us fans, and respect their customers. They don't have to win all the time which sometimes me feels they want to. Piss me off and I'll really walk out on them.
