To round it off, I appreciate Maxi wasn't outstanding consistently last season, but I was simply countering your point about him having offered nothing under Rafa.

Don't twist my words. I said that was his best performance in a Liverpool shirt and that it came under Hodgson for some bizarre reason. He had a few games under Rafa and IMHO never once did he play anything like that, yesterday he was like a man possesed.

Glad you appreciated that post, since I was a bit bored it amused me to put it together!

Are you usually a bored person ;D. Yeah, sorry mate (seriously) that post told me (tongue firmly in cheek).

Sorry, but your inferences led me to believe 'thought 5'O' was on my back reading too much into things.

      Back to topic.

Maxi played well, really well, Soto was my man of the match and I support and live in Leeds and dislike LFC (apparently_

Found it weird that Torres came out from the tunnel behind Stevie, Carra and Konchesky.

He said he usually comes out after the most important players of the club have. So, this means he thinks Konchesky is the third most important player at the club?  ;D

Went to the game, thought it was our best performance of the season (not saying much I know). We had a ten minute spell around the 65minute mark where the passing, movement and pace was what we've all being crying out for and Blackburn couldn't live with us.

Was pleased Nando got the winner, and great to see the rest of the teams good reaction to it.

Thought Sotis was excellent and Maxi worked harder that any other time Ive seen him for a long while. Ngog needed a rocket up his arse when he came on though, his lack of chasing and harrying was shocking!

Doesn't change anything for me as far as Roy's concerned, he's still not the man for the job and the only way he will turn my thoughts is by playing like that every game until Christmas.

Didn't hear any of the rumours as posted somewhere else about Roy/Sammy bust up, thought the atmosphere was decent too.

About time we got a good result.

Outstanding team performance and it's good to see we finally learned how to attack!!!!

MOM without doubt is Sotiris Kyrgiakos, this fella knows just what it means to wear the Red shirt. Full of passion, leadership and intensity from first to final whistle. Top performance big man.

I felt really glad to hear the Reds had beaten Blackburn and secured a welcome three points. Did not realise that it was way back in August since we had won in the EPL.

That's such a 'negative' post re Maxi. You don't seem to like LFC much.

I love LFC, just dont think Maxi is up to the level we need... Still, I will support him as I do with every player who dons the shirt.

Back to yesterday, this could be the start of our season.

Question (I didn't watch match of the day)

A lot of posts going on about how great we were attacking and going forward.

If this is true then why did a defender get motm?

I know he scored but a goal doesn't mean you deserve motm??

Was he quality if defence? (which is slightly worrying) as Blackburn were apparently awful so why did he have so much to do??

Was he quality in attack? (which is slightly worrying) as what were the attackers actually doing then??

Haven't posted yet but here goes.

Not as happy as most on here but it was a step in the right direction. First 60 minutes we were good, we passed it nicely and created chances but we missed too many albeit Robinson was quality in net. If the game ended after 60 minutes I would have gone home even more happy than I was.

The last thirty were a bit dire to honest. We just invited them onto us, which really is a problem when they are a long ball team. We slipped into old habits again and I believe if Samba was playing for them and moved forward we would have been in trouble.

F***ing great to see Nando score though! Thought generally the players were good, Lucas showed a lot and got MOTM although Sotis was quality at the back and dangerous from some wonderful Gerrard corners.

It's progress and role on Bolton I say.

MOTM for me was Paul Robinson. I love when that happens AND we get 3 points. Sotis was great as a set piece threat. Thought Gerrard ran the show and was so happy to see my lover Torres score. Now F***ing bury Bolton!

He was excellent in all areas mate.

He provided much needed leadership, confidence and stability at the back which is essential when you have players around you that're suffering a little bit.

He also provided excellent support at attacking set pieces too.

All in all he was just brilliant.

Roy wasn't actually too bad on the post match interview on sky for once

Yeah, but he thinks Carragher played like Carlos Alberto of Brazil.

Now I know he's losing his marbles.

      Roy's blueprint for success

Roy Hodgson wants the performance against Blackburn Rovers to be the blueprint for Liverpool's remaining 29 league fixtures.

The Reds found a new gear to dispatch Sam Allardyce and his team - with the only disappointment coming from a failure to extend the 2-1 scoreline.

Goalscorers Sotirios Kyrgiakos and Fernando Torres earned most of the plaudits afterwards, but Hodgson saw quality all over the park.

He even likened the performance of Jamie Carragher to a great Brazilian full-back.

He said: "We were much more incisive, we got behind them more, we got behind them down the flanks, and Jamie Carragher was bombing down there like Carlos Alberto of old.

"We didn't concede too much space either and were winning the ball back quickly. It was the right sort of performance but we've got to give another 29 of those.

"If we can do that, we won't go too far wrong but there's a lot of work to be done here - everyone knows it.

"We're working in adversity but sometimes work done in adversity can be beneficial in the long-term because when you come out the other side you are a much stronger team and much stronger people.

"Bolton away won't be easy and then we've got Chelsea."

Christ, was SO glad to get 3 pts.
Didn't see the game or highlights (away) but believe we played better than the usual.
Can we get a wee run going? Would love to stuff Bolton. And 3 more points would get us off the bottom 3.
Just hope to God Roy doesn't loose his nerve and keeps us playing more positive stuff.
You gotta think he's under more pressure now that NESV have come in.
Credit Sotis for chipping in, and great to see Nando slot one home.
