It might be a little early for transfer talk but the News Desk just can’t help itself sometimes. Our Director of Football Strategy has been keeping busy by keeping a watchful eye on some of the top targets in Europe. Rumor has it that Mr. Comolli was in France earlier in the month to take in the sights and watch a certain winger from Lille turn out a performance against Toulouse. The £21mil rated Eden Hazard has been a name on the lips of Reds fans for quite some time as the Merseyside club look to bolster their squad during the off season. Another long term prospect, 17 year old Connor Wickham, was also on the radar when Damien took a trip to Portman road to scout the Ipswich and England forward. Spurs have been tipped as the front runners to sign the next big thing but with Comolli knowing a thing or two about the London outfit, the inside track may be open for interpretation.

It's perfectly possible that Comolli has indeed been scouting both Hazard and Wickham, in fact I'd be hugely surprised if it hasn't happened. But scouting and showing interest doesn't mean we'll sign either of them. There are a lot of other factors to consider as well. I'm confident we'll go in with a bid for Hazard but we'll have to see where he ends up.
