      Roy on Dalglish
      Oct 31, 2010 11:38:54 am
      Taken from the Sunday Mirror.

      Quote
"If Kenny's presence is a threat it is, but the fact is I'm not prepared to pass up on quality people who can help us move forward because I'm personally frightened,'' Hodgson told the Sunday Mirror. "If the day comes that they decide they want Kenny Dalglish and not me then so be it.

"That wasn't the case in the summer, but that's not to say it won't be forever more. But I have no fears in that respect. I know what I can bring to the job and what qualities I have. I'm not a political person, I'm not frightened of these things.

"I don't know about his ambition, but you can understand that I can't ask him, 'do you want my job? I was disappointed - and I've told him this - that he applied for the job in the summer because I don't think that was ever really going to happen for him."

Hodgson did revealed that his predecessor Rafa Benitez was not so supportive of Dalglish's involvement on in the playing side of the club.

"When they wanted me for the job, I made it clear to Kenny that he would be with me - not like with Benitez, when he was here in name but not allowed to step foot in Melwood and it was 'we don't want anything to do with you,'' he added.

"I told Kenny, 'that won't be the case, I want to tap into you for all the things you can bring', not least his iconic status. He's doing a very good job, helping us with our scouting, he still does a lot with the younger players at the academy and he also plays an ambassadorial role.

"You could not find a better person in the world to do that job for Liverpool Football Club and he should be doing it for other managers when I leave. His job should be a permanent one."

      Very intriguing comments, no?

Roy suffers from foot in mouth disease.

This quote is also intriguing considering Benitez brought Kenny on board.

"When they wanted me for the job, I made it clear to Kenny that he would be with me - not like with Benitez, when he was here in name but not allowed to step foot in Melwood and it was 'we don't want anything to do with you,'' he added.

Roy Hodgson " Hmm I seem to have come across better with the fans this week by saying utd cant have Pepe. Far too positive, how can I offset that good comment?"

Roys missus "Why dont you say something silly about that Liverpool legend mmmm Dalglish is it?"

RH " Thank you dear thats exactly what Ill do thanks. Now who should I play midfiled Sunday love"

Mrs RH " Come now dear your being silly again, you know Christian has to play"

I agree with the end of Hodgson statement, the reason I say that, is because Kenny should be here permanently. I would hate to see him take the Managerial role and then be sacked. I know he is a great manager King Kenny, but I want him here for the long haul. I think we need someone like Pellegrini.

As for Hodgson he can totally f*** off for slacking on Rafa....again!!!! Does he not realize all of those banners at Anfield that grace his face? Rafa is a legend and for him to slack him off is disrespectful to Rafa, this club, and the fans. You just don't understand us Roy.....you don't understand us.

Classic comment no: 1,345 from the senile arl tw*t!!

"Hodgson did revealed that his predecessor Rafa Benitez was not so supportive of Dalglish's involvement on in the playing side of the club."

One quick question, whose idea was it for Kenny to come back to the club?

And why when Woy spouts his bullshit is he never challenged by anyone in the media?

FFS, how does he keep managing to do this, it can only be deliberate. No-one could possibly be coming out with this sort of sh*te accidentally as he is far to consistent, I mean, every time he opens his gob he does it.

It's like some sort of piss take. In his short time at our club (although, not short enough by a long way) he has managed to insult every group of Liverpool player, the fans, Rafa, Kenny and probably more that fail to come to mind at present, as there have been so many insults.

Seriously, right now I don't know whether I feel like laughing at him or punching him. I wouldn't wish this guy on my worst enemy.

It is almost unbelievable that I find myself in the position of feeling like this with regards to any player or manager of our club. Even if at times I have thought it is right to change a manager or sell a player for whatever reason, never have I felt like this, as I have always had a certain amount of respect for them. But never has any player/manager insulted so many at his own club.

Roy, you are an insult to all that is decent. Please F**k off now.

It's like some sort of piss take. In his short time at our club (although, not short enough by a long way) he has managed to insult every group of Liverpool player, the fans, Rafa, Kenny and probably more that fail to come to mind at present, as there have been so many insults.

      True.

He'll probably start on Shankly and Paisley next week.

Benítez slams Hodgson over Dalglish remarks

Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benítez has slammed his successor Roy Hodgson, after he made accusations about Benítez banning club legend Kenny Dalglish.

Benítez, who is back in England as his side Internazionale prepare to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League this week, was asked about Hodgson's comments that he had banned Dalglish from the club's training ground during his tenure.

The Spaniard, who was responsible for bringing back Dalglish to the club, issued a stinging response to the accusations suggesting that Hodgson should be more focused on his job.

"I think that Mr Hodgson, he doesn't understand," Benitez said.

"Every single press conference is even worse than the last one. He's talking about things that he doesn't know.

"And some people cannot see a priest on a mountain of sugar.

"Maybe he hasn't been in Liverpool too long. We gave the fans their pride again. We fought for the fans, we fought for the club and we fought for our players.

"So maybe he cannot understand this.

"I brought back Kenny Dalglish to do a role in the club and Christian Purslow gave him another role.

"He (Hodgson) doesn't know but I will explain it to him.

"So, instead of talking about the flips or the flops, he has to concentrate on his players, try to do his best.

"He has a good job to do."

Once again defending his own record as Liverpool manager during a six-year reign that ended in the summer, Benítez continued: "They've signed nine players.

"With £10million net spending, I left that squad with £300million value, 13 internationals.

"So, instead of talking about flips and flops, he has to concentrate on his job, try to do his best and not talk about the level of his players or the new players.

"Concentrate, try to do your best because it will be the best for the club and it will be the best for the fans."

      Well said Rafa.

      Roy's a disgrace!

I know the Rafa bashers are tearing their skin at the fact that Rafa has reacted to Hodgson, just like he did to Cecil. Personally just show's he still cares about and loves this club.

If Roy gets the boot in the short term I am sure is F**k he will not even look back once.

Rafa's got a lot to say and continues to represent us well. But I'm not having the '13 international' quote. If you look at it - it's 13 low quality internationals bar a couple of absolute gems. But on the whole - this is a slightly rancid affair.

Still, like Rafa said Roy should concerntrate on his own job. TBF to Rafa, Roy has walked in and made out we need a whole new building process to commence to get things back on track. And while I personally feel Rafa lost his way and things went stale under him Roy only had to come in and put the icing on the cake. Instead he's making out that the team needs an overhaul in everything and he couldn't be further from the truth, he's making out his work to be done (footballing aspects) is actually bigger than it is.

Almost right Rodders, but in his case it's complicated by Dementia.By all accounts, his training methods are dated,of course his tactics are as they have always been, negative, and as for his motivation skills,he couldn't even motivate a teenager in a Brothel.Having suffered over 3 years of "Ownership embarassment",we are now saddled with a gobsh*te of a Manager, who is an equal embarassment.Hang your'e head in shame,Purslime.Almost time once again for "Scal Quaeda" to raise it's profile.Over to you,Johnboy.

Give him time, I'm sure he won't disappoint. He has insulted everyone else, may as well go for the full house.

Nice comeback from Rafa by the way. He has managed to speak up more for the club/team since leaving, than Roy has since becoming manager. Says a lot about the caliber of both men really.

Keegan didn't have the luxury of working for honest people though, like Rafa during his 'first' spell at the club.  So with the roles reversed, we now have decent owners (we hope) it's time for Rafa to come home.

Hodgson has opened his mouth once to often and to say what he did about Rafa and Kenny is way off the mark. Rafa brought Kenny here to do a specific job, Purslow changed all that by trying to change all Rafa did for us and changing Kenny original job and using him differently to what Rafa brought him here to do.

If what Hodgson says were right why would kenny be one of the only backroom board to want Rafa to keep his job. Hodgson is a sh*t stirrer and the press said he was a nice guy. As the Who said ''I won't be fooled again''.

Thats nonsense. He has a huge job to do. Yes he hasn't made it easy on himself but let's not pretend that he has all the tools at his disposal.

If you think we don't need a striker, a world-class holding midfielder, a exciting Bale-esque attacking winger and a Centre Back who will continue in the Hansen, Hyypia, Carragher mould then what do you think Hodgson has in his armoury? 'Cos what we have won't be enough to right all the wrongs.
