I've got this strong feeling Torres will bag his first! Hope I'm right! Really looking forward to this, it's only pre-season as well!

ps if any of you have a sat system that gets the foreign channels the game may be on there.i was able to scan my system for tuesdays game and picked it up on eurosport (germany)

2pm kick off is great news, for me anyway. That is 11pm here so I will finally be able to stream the match at a decent hour, if I can get a good streaming link

I stayed up for the 4:15am kick off on Wed morning, but was so tired and had a sh*t link so gave up. Fingers crossed I can get a good one for tomorrow night. Really looking forward to this one

Liverpool Auxerre...I remember going to that UEFA 4th Round second leg in 2003, the 27th of february, we beat them 3-0 aggregate. 2-0 at home, it was my birthday..a perfect day....

It would be nice to see torres getting a goal, but I'd like to see more of this Voronin-kuyt-Benayoun, some passing were great to see..

I've got Sky but clueless about 'scanning for other channels' - any tips?

I've also got an eseason ticket (free with the LFC credit card) but I think that's just commentary again like Tuesday :-(

5Live seem to think Torres will start tomorrow; I'm looking forward to the match, think we've got a cracking squad and have a very good feeling about this season........... Need to make a visit to the bookies!!

Got a mate with Setanta! He's a bluenose though so I'll have to put up with the constant moaning!  Worth it for the Reds though!

To be honest, I don't like preseason games, they tend to really mislead us when it comes to the real thing. I remember we had a brilliant preseason last (and previous years)but had a hell of a slow start. I hope we continue with our blistering pace this time around.

Njadula, we had a dreadful Pre season last time, we got thrashed twice and reina played centre midfield, so we reely haven't had a good pre season!

Well, this should be a good test for our boys, I expect a strong team fielded, with only a handfull of subs to take place.
Don't be suprised about tactics - I think Rafa will try out a few formations with some of the new players.
I expect Yossi to start with Babel and Torres to come on for the second half.
I will stick my neck out for another 3-2 win for the Reds.
Voronin, Gerrard and Torres.

In the last game Voronin got the first 60 and was then replaced by Torres for the last 30.  I would imagine Rafa will be keen to give Torres a longer run out so he may reverse the roles.

It may be interesting to see Torres and Voronin on together?

Hopefully Fernando will grab his first goal - I remember (was it Crouch?) who started off on a goal drought and the papers were on his case. 

A good game - a good result and most important of all - no injuries for our lads.

I'll be interested to see how the defense lines up. Looked a bit slack the other night pushing up the pitch but not playing the line too well.

Would be very nice to see how Torres and Voronin play together, although maybe we might see Crouch and Torres line up?

I'd like to see Voronin and Torres play together as well! I would like to see Lucas Leiva sometime during pre-season but I've heard he is currently training at Melwood with the reserves waiting on his Italian passport.

I am looking forward to this one, I think we will win, but I hope that some of the new boys get more of a chance this game, which I'm sure they will. Hope that we can continue the decent attacking display from the other night and keep it tight at the back, I'll say 3-1 Liverpool.

Not a great first half, lack of pace in the play but Stevie scoring which is alwaays good news, one of these games we played a lot last season. Babel dosen't look into it so far, I'm looking forward to Crouch-Torres in front for the second half though...That should bring some goals with Pennant and Alonso coming in too...

Really looking forward to the second half now with el nino coming on, sick of these soddin picture loan adverts though!

Liverpool were disjointed in the first half and lacked a bit of gusto. Babel looked a bit of the pace but I think that will be sorted out in our next few matches. Benayoun was good but service to the two upfront was great so Voronin wasn't as effective. Kuyt chased down everything in his hard working fashion as usual. Gerrard scored with his left foot just before half time. Good to see Steven get a goal. Torres and Crouch up front for the second half and Alonso to bolster to midfield should brighten liverpool up. GO ON TORRES!!!!

So what do we all think?  Great left footed goal from Gerrard.

Babel hasn't done too much other than that woeful shot, Benayoun has been very impressive.  And our new goalkeeper looks like he is trying to drain nerves!

Torres and Crouch upfront in a minute... sounds exiciting!!

I know it's an aunder strength defence, but surely they must have learnt how to defend, getting caught at the back a lot

He's not injured but has just missed a sitter!

so overall a pretty poor performance but it is pre-season so lets have all the poor performnaces now rather than in the actual season. Good Goal by Stevie G. Pretty boring game. Torres almost got his goal! Agger headed the second. Defensively there is room for a lot of improvement. El Zhar (is that right?) played well.

Babel did not do much in the 1st half.
Torres, did a little better, but nothing to write home about.

So did mine wasn't the most exciting game but i am just really happy i can watch these games on the net.

Unfortunately I was at work but nice to visit this thread to find everyone still discussing the merits of Sopcast.

 

Can anybody who watched the game give us a little feedback on the likes of Babel and Yossi?

El Zhar was probably our best player. riise, yossi, paletta and pennant were ok but thats all i can say is ok.

But generally the level of the football that was played was poor.  Dirk Kuyt was disappointing again. as much as i rate finnan, he just seems to be lazy in the pre season matches.
It was hot out there, mybe that had something to do with it, but to many players did not do well, it should have been a walk in the park for us, but we made hard work of it.
I hope its a small hic. in the up.

I missed the 1st half i watched all of the 2nd half i was only impressed by El Zhar and Pennant was not bad.

the commentators for the match where so bad when Agger scored they were like TORRES SCORES!! OPENS HIS LIVERPOOL ACCOUNT or some sh*t, the quality of the stream was pretty sh*t so you could not really tell who was who at times.

I thought I was in the wrong thread after reading form page one!

Wasn't much of a good game. At one opoint I thought I was going to nod off (or is that just me getting old.... )
I suppose the positives of the game was the score line and a good run out for the players to regain more fitness.
I think Babel looks like he's a little lost at times. Understandable, because he's not long back from the under 21 championships, then shortly after he was on his way to us. Hopefully he'll find his feet soon. Benayoun looks like he's fitting in more, probably due to his experience. Was interesting to see how they swapped over either wing.
El Zhar looked impressive in the second half. Lots of running and willing to go forward with the ball. Torres probably didn't have as much of an impact as he did against Werder Bremen, but he was trying to get into the mix and wanted the ball.
It's hard to think of anything really impressive to be fair because Auxerre were playing quite deep and tight at the back. Added with some rustiness on our passing and levels of fitness, it made for a stale game. Was only a friendly though.
