Ryan Babel (Birmingham? Arsenal? No, Hoffenheim!)

Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has suggested to Liverpool winger Ryan Babel that he join him at the Emirates Stadium.

 Using his Twitter account, the 18-year-old midfielder wrote: 'what's happening babel!!? When you gonna come to Arsenal haha.'

It may be seen as evidence that Wilshere rates the flying Dutchman as a good player and one he would like to see in the ranks at the north London club.

While the message appears to take a jovial tone, the Gunners have been linked with Babel in previous transfer windows and manager Arsene Wenger is known to be a fan of the player.

However, one potential obstacle in the way of any deal is the Frenchman's insistence this week that he does not need to spend money in January in order to boost his side's domestic and European challenge.

His words followed a 2-0 victory for his second-string line-up against Wigan that booked the club a place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup.

Babel could be a realistic target for Arsenal, who currently sit in third place in the Premier League table, as he has made only five appearances for Liverpool this season, all from the bench.

In total, he has pulled on the Anfield club's red shirt a total of 140 times since a switch from Ajax in 2007 worth more than £10 million.

Let's face it Babel has the skill but not the attitude would take around £7.5 million for him

Babel for Walcott please. Babel (supposedly) supports Arsenal and Walcott is a Liverpool supporter. It only seems logical right? 

Wouldn't like him to go to another Premiership team, especially Arsenal. It'll hurt if he starts delivering the goods.

Anyhow, I'm not convinced Babel's on his way anytime soon if there's a new manager coming in soon because the odds are he'll give Ryan a chance.

One player I will not lose any sleep over losing and I don't subscribe to the thinking that we shouldn't sell him to a rival as he may do well for them.

Agree. I'm still trying to see all the 'unquestionable' potential he's said to have. He's 23 already and does not excel in any aspects of his game.

As for the rumour, it was all made up from a silly post on twitter, the way the article comes to the conclusion he could be moving to Arsenal is laughable.

Sorry Brian but he can't play for us,well he has'nt up to now.

Deserves until the end of the season I reckon. 

With the chances he had  and not performing when he had his chances , i reckon we will get much less than we paid for him if we sell him now, , so i will go for a loan(if i have to choose) where he will get more chances to play and maybe come good or increase his worth
