One team plays attractive attacking football with quick passing and good movement, the other sits deep and plays long balls from defence, has no width and no plan B.

      How times change...............

Bolton have not won at Anfield since 1954. Another Anfield record for Roy to break

      Don't, it's not even funny.

If we do win, will this be our only double of the season?

That's just depressing. If we win then Roy will be in charge for a further 3-4 games. If we lose then I think he'll be sacked. What's better for Liverpool in the long term?

Getting ready to go the game. Can't remember ever feeling like this though. Normally I'm really looking forward to it but I just want to get to the end of the season now and start afresh 2011/2012 and hope its not Championship football!! No two ways about it but this last year has been carnage for the club!

God, ignore the stats... it's too much like tempting fate, like the Wolves game. Bittersweet this. If we win, it's three sorely needed points. Lose, and surely Roy is gone.

      Happy New Year everyone.

Just seen this on the BBC site

      Doubtful: Cole (ankle), Gerrard (fatigue)

      http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9327929.stm

You have got to be having a laugh. FATIGUE!

Either this is rubbish, or something is going on big style with him. What I have no idea, but he does have a history of sulking when things are not all grand and dandy, and at present they are not.

Or it could be that he was forced by Roy to play 90 minutes on the back of a 6 week absence so 3 days isn't enough time for him to recover?

Someone made him play a full match, returning from injury, after 6 weeks without football.

Not really surprised he is fatigued.

And better to have Mereiles in CM than him and Raul on the right anyway.

This should be in the Jokes thread surely?

He was ready for the Fulham game, so this does not wash with me, or do I sense sarcasm?

      Nah not a joke.

Work on the training ground does not compensate for match time.

      Wasn't sarcastic.

Gerrard is 30yr old and play in a position where he cover more field than anyone. I don't see a reason to doubt his commitment because he is tired having only 3 days to rest between a full match and this one.

And a reasonable manager would be rotating players like him anyway, considering we have 8 matchs in the next 25 days.
